White Lick Creek Trail is the north-south spine of the Plainfield trail system, connecting several parks and the Plainfield Recreation and Aquatics Center. On its northern end, the trail meets the Vandalia Trail in Franklin Park. From there, the paved pathway heads south, paralleling the tree-lined banks of its namesake creek, for 3.5 miles before ending at S. Center Street and Lincoln Road.
A highlight of the route is a passage over an old iron truss bridge in Friendship Gardens Park about mid-trail. Closer to its southern end, the trail winds through Hummel Park, where connections to other trails are available.
From north to south, parking is available at: Franklin Park (300 North Mill Street), the White Lick Creek Trailhead (450 W. Main Street), and Hummel Park (1500 South Center Street).
Great trail
The scenery along the creek and fields was beautiful.
