Gordons Pond Trail

Gordon’s Mudflat

May, 2018 by vivian.bedoya

Visited in May 2018 & tried to walk from the Ocean Drive trailhead towards Herring Point. This is a nicely planned, well-maintained trail and a lot of cyclists were enjoying it. Unfortunately, the main attraction, Gordon’s Pond, was dry and foul-smelling; more of a caked mudflat than a body of water. After one mile, we turned back because the flies and hot sun made the experience more unpleasant than the smell. We’ll try again next time we’re in Lewes.

Junction & Breakwater Trail

J&B and Gordon's Pond

May, 2018 by dillar

Great Loop.... Started at Gordon's Pond Parking lot just north of Rehobeth. Rode north on Gordon's Pond Loop, connected via the Cape Henlopen trail past the bath house and onto Rt. 9 to Lewes. Connected with the Junction and Breakwater back to Rehobeth.
Good Surfaces all the way.... was initially concerned with traffic on Rt. 9, but we rode thru a neighborhood parallel to the road and came back onto Rt. 9 just before the Ferry terminal. Don't take Rt. 9 into Lewes, go an extra block and take Savannah Road into Lewes. There's a Dairy Queen on the corner and you can see the Lewes beach right there. Signs for connection to Breakwater Trail are visible right after the little drawbridge.
The end of the trail is a little confusing...the sign is outdated, but if you go left on rt. 273 and turn right on Canal Crossing Road (~200yds) to Church street you'll arrive at Rehobeth Ave. to turn left into town..

North Wildwood Seawall Trail

The Seawall

January, 2018 by rcpat

The is a very unique biking experience, In the fall is the best time to ride here because it is the off season. If anybody is thinking about riding here, check out the photos on this trail page. You will what to do this.
I did my rides over two days in November 2017. The ocean, sea breeze, and beach just fills you with elation. One note, you cannot ride on top of the seawall. However, streets run parallel to the seawall. On the south-side, they have a ground level concrete boardwalk that leads to Wildwood.
Enclosing, to be there in the fall on a beautiful day is very special.

Cold Spring Bike Path

Safe and pretty walk or ride.

November, 2017 by musicman.aje83

I've walked this trail starting from Historic Cold Spring Village and going south from there. It's nice that the old railroad buildings and signs are still in place. Except for right in front of Historic Cold Spring Village, the trail is shaded pretty well by trees and foliage on both sides of the trail. So, there's not a whole lot to see, but the trail is far away from traffic at the section of the trail. It's a nice little bit of exercise to add to a day at Historic Cold Spring Village.

Georgetown-Lewes Trail

Great potential

October, 2017 by kshell

This trail is only a little over one mile but it will eventually go the whole way to Georgetown. The part that is completed is paved. I hope this trail is completed as soon possible. It will be great for Sussex County.

Gordons Pond Trail

Great loop with the Junction and Breakwater Trail

October, 2017 by kshell

The Gordon Pond Trail is a great ride. We rode from Rehoboth Beach to Lewes and linked up with the Junction and Breakwater Trail for our return trip to Rehoboth Beach. The total loop it about 18 miles. We have done this ride numerous times and each time it is great experience. Both trails are well maintained.
We know the route but for someone who is not familiar with the route this could cause a problem. The connection between the two trails is not well marked. The bike shops in the area provide maps but markings that link the two trails would be very helpful.

Wildwood Crest Bike Path

Awesome place to ride

July, 2017 by jenjen1313

Great path to use if your in the area. In the morning mostly bikers, walkers, and joggers. In the evening mostly walkers enjoying the sea breeze. Goes right along sand dunes. Very smooth surface, personally my son and I chose to inline skate on it in the evening (what a blast). Plenty of benches to sit, several parks for the little ones and walkways onto the beach.

Cold Spring Bike Path

Connection with the Middle Township Bike Path Underway

July, 2017 by johnfboyle

Lower Township is working with Cape May County and Middle Township to construct the missing link between the two trails. When completed in Late Summer 2017 there will be an 11 mile path between Sandman Rd, Cold Spring Village and the Cape May County Park and Zoo.

Cold Spring Bike Path

Path being extended north to Middle Township

June, 2017 by johnfboyle

Construction is happening to extend north to Church St in Middle Township, where it will link up with the Middle Township Bike Path, creating an 11 mile trail between Cold Spring and Cape May County Park/Zoo.

Middle Township Bike Path

2+ miles of new asphalt at the southern end

June, 2017 by jersey rider

Rode up from Cape May for the first time this year. After leaving town I got on the Cold Spring Bike Path and then steeled my nerves for the 2+ miles one has (had) to take on Rt 109/9 to connect to the MTBP. After about a half mile on the road after CSBP, a new asphalt bike path magically appeared. There were signs saying the path was closed but it looked done so I took a chance and voila, despite the signage, the new section completely connects to the beginning (now the middle of the MTBP). This really made my day. Now it is about 3 miles of path on the Cold Spring Trail, 3/4 mile on rt 109 (with a wide shoulder), then 6.75 so on this trail, plus, at the north end, there is another bike trail for about a mile to the big rec complex. Almost 11 miles of safe biking!
