Redden State Forest Headquarters Loop Trail

Middle Township Bike Path

Leafy, expedient

December, 2019 by malaria

Being under electric lines, it's great that the trail isnt mown, rather its left to natural vegetation, which, along with the forest often present, is A-1 South Jersey amazing.

This is a great route for biking from points west to southern Cape May County, the alternatives being various and not always hospitable. The new section enables biking to Wildwood and Cape May. Conversely, this path enables day or 1 night trips to Denisville, Estelle Manor, and other serene spots and State Parks as a break from the beach.

Cross Island Trail Expansion completed

October, 2019 by rhondat71@hotmail.com

Have not ridden the Cross Island Trail in a couple of weeks, but drove by it on the way back home from Delaware today. The expansion which begins at the Kent Narrows near Harris' Crab House and ends at Long Point Park is complete and people were walking and riding this section. Beautifully done!

Georgetown-Lewes Trail

Fantastic, So Far

July, 2019 by markmd21

Phase two of the new trail opened this past spring. They really did a fantastic job building it, and it is a pleasure to ride on. Now, you can go about 13 miles in one direction by connecting to the Junction-Breakwater trail towards Rehoboth. The road crossings are fairly frequent, but well marked. I'm happy to report that most drivers stop and waive bicyclists across. I'm excited about the prospect of the trail being completed all the way to Georgetown.

Love This Little Trail

July, 2019 by bikerjo2231

Finally rode it this weekend and loved it. It's nice and flat and was not crazy crowded for a Sunday morning. It hooks right into the Junction Breakwater so you can really get a nice workout between the different routes. The trail now ends at Cool Spring. However, once it is completed to Georgetown, DE it is going to a great addition to Sussex County.

Cross Island Trail

It is getting longer

April, 2019 by lubes0714

For those of you who like this trail, I have good news. They are adding a 1.5 mile extension to the east end of the trail at the Kent narrows bridge. This extension is almost all made of bridge/boardwalk but it is beautiful and runs over the water through wetlands giving a great view of the water. It is supposed to be finished sometime in may. They must have spend several million to add this extension. Can't wait to ride it, will make the trail total distance now about 6 miles.

Awesome Trail

July, 2018 by sheranee

Couldn’t wait to get back to the beach to ride this trail again. It’s the easiest trail to ride and the views and scenery are awesome. I like to park at revelations microbrewery, trail goes right by it and they aloud parking there and have a cold one.

Cross Island Trail

Great Ride

July, 2018 by m_kokonut

We caught a break from the heat wave and had beautiful weather. Started from Terrapin Nature Park and caught the Cross Island Trail and took it all the way over to Kent Narrows. Had lunch at the Jetty. The best part is that we were able to bring our puppy in the pet trailer and the Jetty was pet friendly with outdoor dining. Such an amazing day. Was a bit tougher on the return but only because we have not been out riding this season. The trail is relatively flat and mostly shaded. We spent some time on the beach back at Terrapin Nature Park to recover before heading over to Queenstown for the outlets and then returning home. Great day trip!

Gordons Pond Trail

Gordon’s Mudflat

May, 2018 by vivian.bedoya

Visited in May 2018 & tried to walk from the Ocean Drive trailhead towards Herring Point. This is a nicely planned, well-maintained trail and a lot of cyclists were enjoying it. Unfortunately, the main attraction, Gordon’s Pond, was dry and foul-smelling; more of a caked mudflat than a body of water. After one mile, we turned back because the flies and hot sun made the experience more unpleasant than the smell. We’ll try again next time we’re in Lewes.
