Overall, it was a great experience but the bridge was closed right after Wadsworth. The detour sign just sends you to Wadsworth which was heavily trafficked, all uphill and felt somewhat unsafe. On the way back west, I took a different detour that was much better. I wish the detour sign began right before crossing the bridge at Wadsworth and told you to go north instead. Yale is much safer and you can take that to Webster which then brings you back to the trail.
We did this ride on Friday 8-21-26 and it was like Freedom on wheels. I am disabled with the condition of Transverse myelitis. Which was a complication to my flu shot in 2014. It paralyzed me from the waist down by floor only a short period of time was completely paralyzed, but it have been a mobility limited ever since then, and the majority of the time if I were to wanted to do anything like this at all, my husband would’ve probably had to have pushed me in a wheelchair the entire way or I could’ve probably use my electric wheelchair although I didn’t even know about this trail and I’m not sure how my battery. would have sustained. But my E—trike did the roundtrip from 40th and Youngfield Trail parking and to the current trail end on onl two bars off my battery. . The trail was very well maintained for my abilities yet fun enough for my husband as well. It was a fairly hot day so I did indulge in a river soak for a bit before returning back. Beautiful scenery, respectful trail sharing. BRING AND WEAR SUNSCREEN! would’ve held up on my electric
We road the trail starting at the Pikes Peak Greenway trail and road the sand Creek trail to Panoramic Park but part of it required riding on the road using the bike lanes. At times the park was ok but overall lots of industrial, trash and homelessness. They need to get volunteers or businesses to signup to maintain the area. One of the bridges you go under had so much trash and smell it was pretty bad.
We parked at the Edmondson Trail head and road Pikes Peak Greenway Trail to the Sand Creek Trail and road that trail to the Panoramic Park and then returned to Edmondson Trail Head. It was a total of 35.5 miles. We saw several deer and the trail was really enjoyable. Once you pass America the Beautiful park it gets a little sketchy at times due to the homelessness and trash along the trail. Parts of it was still nice but several places there were large groups of homelessness. Only one lady was a little loud and harassing the bikers. When we ride it again we will turn around at America the Beautiful
We started downtown and rode out 25 miles and back. Lots invested in this concrete trail and well maintained.

Extreme safety hazard, has been going on for over a year. He cuts limbs off of trees and often has them over his shoulder pacing the path. On the centennial side of the border, nothing being done. Only safe passage across parker road totally haunted by this guy.
Route includes connection to Cherry Creek regional trail.
Great views and big hills is now open from Gartrell south and the west to connect to the Cherry Creek regional trail. Previously the trail was rather boring going north next to E470.
Great ride next to stream with just the right amount of hills to get outta the saddle a bit. Some wildlife sighted: Juvenile Moose, Prairie Dog.
I've ridden my bike along this trail many times in the last year. It's been fun to see so many different neighborhoods in Arvada. We usually start near the Kaiser building on Sheridan and ride west to Five Parks. Out and back it ends up being about 14 miles. Typically, there are not many bikes on the trail just runners and dog walkers. There are a few shady spots along the way but wear sunscreen as you are exposed quite a bit. The only "bad part" of the trail is crossing Wadsworth at 77th Dr and having to ride around Natural Grocers and Target. It can be quite busy there but luckily it's only a 1/2 mile stretch. The trail is in decent condition but could use some TLC in spots. Over all, a good place to get a quick ride in after work.
