Enola Low Grade Trail

Kinda boring at times, but great for long rides

March, 2025 by tnbpptw5x7

The trail is incredibly straight, so it can seem boring at times, but that also makes long rides easy since you can just go without having to slow down for roads or anything. Eden and Bart townships have done work on improving their segments, and the whole trail, even where it says “unimproved,” is perfectly rideable until Atglen, where it does deteriorate a bit. Overall great trail.

MA & PA Heritage Trail

Crowded but manageable

I often had to slow down for pedestrians on a weekend in February. Has some brief but aggressive climbs. Excited for the final piece to open soon.

Brandywine Creek Path

Best City Park

March, 2025 by chris.tijerino

The Brandywine is the perfect city park. It connects most every neighborhood along the Brandywine river. Plenty of space for joggers, kids, dogs and folks who use walking aids. Scenic, clean and minimal noise pollution.

MA & PA Heritage Trail

Getting longer

March, 2025 by finman57

The map shows the trail stopping at Main Street in Bel Air. Another mile has been added to that. It’s been there a couple of years and now they are working on a new section. When done this will connect the two sections that are existing. While this is the closest trail to me I seldom ride it because of two things. 1 is it does not really follow the old rail bed the whole time. Because of this it has some major hills. 2 is that it is to crowded for me. All personal opinions.

Redden State Forest Headquarters Loop Trail

Free and accessible.

March, 2025 by mih28271

An amazing free resource for the lower eastern shore. Flat sand trail mostly covered with pine needles. I would not recommend this trail if your tires are less than 50mm (2 inch) wide. Minimal but effective main trail markings. Multiple unmarked side trails. Adequate parking. Pack a lunch and make a day of it. This is a state forest not a park, there are port-a-john's near the parking area.

Isaac Branch Greenway Trail

This is a really nice trail for a quick ride on any kind of bike. Really enjoyed it today wish it was longer.

Milton Rail-Trail

Beautiful but leaves you wanting more

January, 2025 by tymetravler

We live in Milton and have visited the trail several times. Each time I think how awesome it would be if it connected to the larger trail system leading into Lewes, Cape Henlopen State Park, and Rehoboth. On occasion, we will get into the car and drive to one of those trailheads. The Milton rail trail is beautiful, but maybe be a little shortsighted for those wanting more of a workout/challenge/enjoyment.

Cross Island Trail

Cross Island extended

November, 2024 by smerchant1120

I frequently ride the Cross Island Trail. You can extend your ride starting at the Royal Farms. Continue on Sadler Rd when it ends make a left on Chester River Beach Rd then right on VFW Ave. At the Quality Inn make a left onto Winchester Creek Rd. Then right onto Hissey Rd and then left back onto Winchester Creek Road. Stop at Nesbit Rd. The roads are not busy and will add 4 more miles to your round trip.

Schuylkill River Trail

Great trail that runs through Philly

November, 2024 by lvcatfish

Relatively easy access from our hotel (Philly Downtown Marriott). We rode our travel tandem that we packed along for this trip. Beautiful ending of the fall leaves turning. Lots of trail traffic in town but traffic and scenery improved a lot as we got farther out of town. Old homes in a section of Fairmont Park adjacent to the trail are worth stopping to see. Dams and cascading water also create a serene environment worth stopping to absorb for a while.

Enola Low Grade Trail

Enola Low Grade is excellent

November, 2024 by jcarey52

My wife and I parked at designated parking 3 miles east of Quarreyville and road to the end of the trail at Turkey Hill preserve. The trail is maintained and in excellent condition. I will note that when parking at this spot as of 11/01/2024 there are trail closed signs and there is still some paving work to be completed. However, the section being worked on is only 2 miles long and is easily rideable. If you want to park at the next location a bit west of this spot you will miss this. Note there are several areas to park along the trail and all have excellent parking and there are many benches, picnic tables, and port-a-johns along the length of the trail. There is no access to water, so, bring it with you. From where we parked to Turkey Hill preserve parking is 22 miles one way. This entire length of trail is in excellent condition and very enjoyable. Heading east from where we parked we were told (as we did not ride east) work is still being done on the trail and it is not in the same pristine condition. We have ridden many rail trails across the United States and highly recommend this one.

Monroe Township Bike Path

Trail is mostly in the woods. Flat and smooth. Small trail at the high school football stadium leads to a dog park & clean port-a-potty. Very pretty and relaxing ride.
