Poudre Trail (Fort Collins)

Great Ride and Lunch

September, 2021 by rxrayinc

We started at the Environment Education Center and rode to Bellvue. Even with a stronger than mild wind the scenery kept my mind off the wind. (Coming back with the wind was great!¿) On the way back we followed signs to down town And found, Tom Kha Thai Asian Bistro. What a delightful restaurant and reasonably priced for lunch. We continued through town across the college campus and found the Spring Canyon Park trail. Spring Canyon was beautiful. We found a blow snake more than half the path width! Back across town to the truck. Overall a 40 mile ride!

Both the main trails in Longmont are flat, concrete and perfectly maintained. There is currently a bike detour to get between the trails but it is hard to see going NW.

South Platte River Trail beautiful in spots

August, 2021 by gregorythow

Just finished it.. our favorite part was south of Inverness Park through the Overland Golf course area.. beautifully maintained by the city with waterfall features, outdoor gym equipment, great places to picnic... we were really really impressed with the southern portion of the trail. On to the next one!

Ralston Creek Trail

Better signage needed

June, 2021 by jeff.harbert7

Terrible signage, particularly around the various forks in the path. Ended up in the middle of the golf course at one point. Scenic views towards the end (if you’re heading west towards Golden)

trail closed between Mississippi and Alameda

Beautiful urban trail Retaining wall damage has closed the trail between Mississippi and Alameda. Not known when repairs will be completed

Toll Gate Creek Trail

My First Trail

June, 2021 by jadc55

When I first got my bike I had no idea all these trails existed. While riding around my neighborhood with a friend he spotted the trail from Hampden Run Park. He told me this would be the base on my rides and he was so right. You have to ride the sidewalk on Quincy to the start of the trail but from there it continues up to Alameda where it connects with the High Line Canal Trail. Along the way you pass Hampden Run Park, Hutchinson Pond, Unnamed Creek Trail, Aurora's Central Recreation Center, Powerline Trail, Horseshoe Park, West Toll Gate Creek Trail, Cherry Creek Spillway Trail, and Tollgate Park with the Pipeline Trail. Just before Horseshoe Park there is a pump and repair station. At Horseshoe park there is a water fountain and restrooms. There are underpasses at Hampden, Mississippi, and Alameda. With all the connecting trails there are many rides you can build from this trail. This site mentioned parking at Quincy Reservoir. You may need an Aurora park pass or purchase a day pass to park there. But Summit Elementary is just across the street.

South Link Greenway

It's Functional

May, 2021 by realstelecat

It's in the name: it's a link. It does indeed link. Doesn't go above and beyond, but it gets the job done, linking the Allison Draw Greenway with the Sun Valley/East Cheyenne Greenway. Goes through two intersections and the most forgotten "park" in town; it's not much for scenery.

South Cheyenne Greenway

It Exists

April, 2021 by realstelecat

It kinda goes all over and nowhere in particular at the same time. The middle section from Parsely to Walterscheid has some public exercise equipment which is nice if you're into that sort of thing, and seems to be used a lot by the folks in that area. The greenway also technically incorporates a pedestrian overpass over I-80, which is useful. But other than that, like a lot of Cheyenne greenways, it feels haphazard and half-done. It doesn't lead much of anywhere, much of it feels like a glorified sidewalk, and it doesn't connect well into a unified greenway system.
