Centennial Trail (WY) Description

Centennial Trail offers a pleasant half-mile route through the northern Wyoming city of Buffalo, which is nestled in the foothills of the Big Horn Mountains. It was built in 1990 and its name was in honor of the state's 100-year anniversary. The pathway traces the northern bank of Clear Creek, which bisects the town and it's part of a larger system of trails spanning 11 miles throughout the community.

On its eastern end, the crushed-stone trail begins off South Bypass Road in a commercial part of town, but is buffered by trees. Short spurs off the trail also connect the route to the surrounding neighborhoods. To the west, the trail ends at North Lobban Avenue, where there's trail signage and a bench overlooking the creek. If you continue west on-road on Trail Street for one block, you'll reach North Main Street, which is lined with restaurants and shops.
