Civitan Park Trail is a paved, multiuse trail that connects multiple parks, recreational amenities, and community resources in Trussville. The trail is included in the Red Rock Trail System, a developing 750-mile network of multiuse trails in Jefferson County.
Its southern trailhead is located at Trussville Veterans' Memorial Park and the former site of “Slagheap Village.” Heading north, the trail follows the Cahaba River through lightly wooded areas. Spur trails connect the route with Masonic Park, Masonic Park Playground (137 Parkway Dr), the Trussville Swimming Pool, the Trussville Public Library (201 Parkway Dr), and Cahaba Elementary. The trail passes by the Trussville Senior Center, a disc golf course, and the Cahaba Dog Park (531 Cherokee Dr), which is accessible from the trail via the Cherokee Drive bridge. The northern end of the trail runs by the Trussville Sports Complex and its numerous athletic fields.
Parking is available at Trussville Veterans' Memorial Park (55 Parkway Dr, Trussville), at Civitan Disc Golf Course, at Masonic Park, and at several locations in the Trussville Sports Complex.
Concrete path for walking and bike riding that is 5 or 6 feet wide. We really enjoyed it. Met some friendly people and animals. The fallen soldier memorial was impressive.
