The North Aqueduct Greenway connects Billy Hewitt Park and downtown Tarrant. The paved, multiuse trail parallels Pinson Valley Parkway for a majority of the route.
Chief William C "Billy" Hewitt Park (2475 Pinson Valley Pkwy) serves as the trail's northern endpoint. The park has a playground, picnic tables and pavilions, and benches. After winding through the park, the trail heads south and there is a section of boardwalk where it crosses Five Mile Creek.
Paralleling Pinson Valley Parkway south to downtown Tarrant, the trail comes to its southern end at Bethel Avenue. The off-road asphalt trail stops here, but you can continue on sidewalks/unprotected bike lanes along Pinson Valley Parkway and then south on Ford Avenue to reach an unconnected off-road segment of the trail that runs southwest from Ford Avenue to Portland Alley.
The trail serves as a useful transportation link for the surrounding communities, providing a safe and efficient route for cyclists and pedestrians to access local businesses, schools, and other amenities.
The greenway is included in the Red Rock Trail System, a developing 750-mile network of multiuse trails in Jefferson County.
Parking is available at "Billy" Hewitt Park (2475 Pinson Valley Pkwy) and there is street parking in downtown Tarrant. Visit the TrailLink map for detailed directions.
