County House Trail is a 2-mile paved pathway in southwestern Columbia. The southern end of the trail connects to the scenic 8.9-mile MKT Nature and Fitness Trail, which in turn reaches the Katy Trail State Park, one of the longest rail-trails in the country at more than 200 miles.
From the MKT Trail connection, the County House Trail hugs the western bank of the larger lake in the Twin Lakes Recreation Area. Fishing, swimming, and boating (non-motorized only) are allowed in the lakes. Restrooms and picnic tables here also make for a pleasant trailside stop.
The trail continues north along its namesake creek and ends at Stadium Boulevard. This northern section of the trail also has a gravel side path.
Parking is available in the Twin Lakes Recreation Area (2500 Chapel Hill Road); the lot is a mile north of the trail’s southern endpoint (where it connects with the MKT Trail).
