The Wirtz Road Bike Path is a paved sidepath trail that runs alongside Wirtz Road and Manship Road in the Jackson suburb of Flowood, Mississippi. The trail helps connect cyclists and pedestrians in the numerous neighborhoods and subdivisions along its route with the rest of their community, providing a safe off-road path for recreation and transportation.
The western end of the trail begins outside Winners Circle Park and the Liberty Road Bike Path - the park offers numerous picnic sites, tennis courts, and a pleasant walking path. Heading northeast, the trail passes the entrance to the lovely wooded grounds of Flowood Nature Park, continuing past rural households and newer housing compounds as it winds its way following the roadway.
On the eastern end, the trail offers a connection to the Hugh Ward Boulevard Bike Path, allowing users to continue north up to the scenic shores of the Pelahatchie Bay. Taken together, these bike paths make up a useful network ranging through much of Flowood and a wonderful local asset.
Parking is available at the western end of the trail at Winners Circle Park (100 Winners Circle in Flowood) and at the Flowood Nature Park (4077 Flowood Drive).
