Offering nearly 10 miles of paved pathway through Rochester, the Zumbro South Trail serves as both an important transportation route and recreational destination. As the western end of the trail reaches the historical and beautiful Mayowood estate, the pathway is sometimes also referred to as the Mayowood Trail.
Scenic views abound as the trail follows the lushly wooded Zumbro River and skirts around a handful of lakes. As the trail approaches the city center, you'll see more housing, commercial areas and a large golf course at Soldiers Field. At its northern end, you'll have access to Mayo Park, Mayo Civic Center and the Rochester Art Center.
Parking is available at the John Withers Sport Complex (2021 Mayowood Rd. SW) and Soldiers Memorial Field (244 Soldiers Field Dr. SW).
Needs better signs for the L 10 LOOP. had a great time with the dog.
