Salem Parkway Bike Path

Very smooth

June, 2022 by felixcandelaria1998

It’s a smooth path for the most part. It has a little bit of cracks and sometimes branches. There is a couple tents from the homeless at the beginning of the path, I’ve never had a problem so far but it’s a pretty good spot otherwise

Ankeny Rail Trail

This is an easy walk and so peaceful. It's a must do and do again.

Its only 1.2 miles but its a very comfortable stroll or power walk. At its beginning "Monteith Park" is beautiful at any time of year. The Calapooia River drops into the Mighty Willamette at Monteith . From this walk you can see the backside of Albany. The trail is lined with lamp posts; its a very peaceful walk.

Logging Road Trail

Smooth and flat.

January, 2019 by fourknees

Only hiked the north section from Eco City Park trailhead. We’ll be back to visit the south section. Path was smooth enough for my kids to scooter. There are also several geocaches along the way, some very close to the path.
Even on a cool, overcast, but weekend day there were several others on the trail. All walkers.

Cazadero Trail

Enjoyed Running

September, 2018 by brighambaird

I have run from the Eagle Creek trestle to Suttle Road and back and then today I ran from Barton to the Eagle Creek trestle connecting the two trails by way of highway 224. I look forward adding the leg from Boring to Barton. I too wished the gaps were filled in but if I can find work arounds then I will. I can’t wait until the trail goes all the way to Estacada.

Cazadero Trail

Not very rewarding

August, 2018 by mattoleriver

This is an odd trail. It runs from Barton to the Eagle Creek trestle with large gaps (no trail) in between. Even without the gaps it essentially goes from nowhere to nowhere all with the sound of highway traffic in the background. This could be a nice and useful trail if the gaps were eliminated and if the trail continued into Estacada.
I use this trail because it is in my neighborhood but I would not recommend it to anybody who has to travel to the trailhead.

Logging Road Trail

Canby walking trail

June, 2017 by kohfieldgk

I've been walking the logging road for over 30 years. I've had many walks with my cats and dogs.
Over the last 10 years there's been some good and bad changes to the road.
The city of Canby bought the road then paved it. That was a good thing.
Now that it's paved the police can travel on it much faster now without braking the car there driving.
But worse than that is the bike riders. Yes bike riders!
They feel as if they own the road. I'm not talking about the mom and dad with kids bike riders. I'm talking about the ones that have the tight pants and Ricky rocket helmets.
They feel as if it's there road. They travel at speeds sometimes making them nothing but a blur. At those times
I've seen them yell at the moms and dad walkers with kids, "hey keep your kids under control ". To keep them out of the way. To this one. they actually hit and tried to run someone over. That reason was, " you were walking on the wrong side of the road". I didn't know there was a wrong side of the road because it started as a WALKING TRAIL not bike trail.
But other than the rude bike riders you will sometimes meet
You can meet some of the nicest people.
Nice dog people as well.

Nice level even ground, gravel path, our two terriers enjoyed the hike. We are working our way into backpacking this trail was great for trying out our packs. Easy to find trail head and parking was easy as well.

Pleasant enough

We started in Boring and then walked for 2.5 miles and walked back. Through woods on flat crushed gravel as advertised.

Ankeny Rail Trail

this is a Wildlife Refuge and meant for people walking not dogs..sorry

August, 2015 by ccollins10

this walk is awesome and a great view but it is a Wildlife Refuge so you would not take dogs on walks or runs here. highly recommend.
