Bald Hill Multi-Modal Path

Pleasant berry, lined trail

July, 2016 by oregonsubscriber

I'd give this short hike a 5, but it was poorly marked. That being said - I highly doubt you'll get lost. A real jewel, just outside the city of Corvallis. You can stay on the paved trail out in the meadows, or take a somewhat steep side trail through the gorgeous oaks and pines. and get a quick 20 minute cardio fix. There are flowers in the open fields and in the summer, abundant blackberries along the trail. You'll emerge from the thick woods at the top of hill, which is truly bald - e.g., a few beautiful oaks, and just lovely grass and fields of Queen Anne's Lace. It's a must to take a break on the well maintained bench at the top that looks over an incredible hilly view that's reminiscent of the Scottish moors.

Willamette River Trail

Nice bike path close to downtown

August, 2015 by moscowsharon

I biked here from Benton County Fairground via downtown Corvallis. The path meandered through baseball fields, soccer fields, a kids playground, the wastewater treatment plant, and then by a very cool neighborhood. Coming back, I took some dirt routes and found a great place to hang out by the river. I suspect there are lots of places like that to discover. This path veers off in a lot of different directions. You could spend all day here exploring.

Ankeny Rail Trail

No Jogging ¿¿

August, 2015 by smilaura19

It wasn't until I got back from running this nice little trail that I saw the sign "no pets, no bikes, and no jogging" plus it isn't really much of a loop. I was hoping to run around it a couple times but saw the sign and stopped after 1 time through. Otherwise it's very well kept and beautiful scenery.

Minto-Brown Island Park Paved Path

Nice scenery but Cougar sighting

August, 2015 by venusp

Loved the variety of trails and places to wander off into, not just totally straight paths. Rode by a dog park. But a couple days ago there was a cougar sighting, so we only biked for 4 miles. Would like to try it again.

Ruth Bascom Riverbank Trail System

Well Maintained Greenway

June, 2015 by mjerabek

We rode this trail on June 22, it was quite busy for a weekday. However, it is near the university and I suspect used by students and facility. The trail is in good condition. However, it has a number of spurs and it could use better directional information. However, it was an enjoyable ride.

A good restaurant, called McMenamins North Bank is on the north side of the river and we strongly recommend it.

Not a pet friendly trail so if you are planning on taking your pet hiking with you do not go to this trail.

Ruth Bascom Riverbank Trail System

fantastic run through the woods

February, 2015 by divinman

what can I say that hasn't already been said. I parked off of Aspen at the small park. Ran up the south side along the Pre path (it's wood chip instead of concrete and more scenic) all the way to Owosso Bike bridge and the back up the north bank passed the college. 9 miles of beauty. It should be noted that the water fountains in all the parks are turned off for the winter.

Ruth Bascom Riverbank Trail System

Family Fun, Birding, Options Galore

August, 2014 by dmurphy52

Eugene loves its bike trails, and the Ruth Bascom Riverbank Trail System reflects this both by the obvious commitment to design of the trail itself and the number of people that turn out to use it.

It's a sinuous trail, with gently rolling inclines, broad curves as it follows the Willamette River, and it it well suited for family excursions. The trail has multiple options, with several bridge crossings giving riders the options of brief outings or more energetic forays. The exceptionally good signage makes choosing a route easy.

Crossing through some very scenic wetland/marsh areas, the opportunity to do some rewarding birding is a bonus.

I've ridden this trail system three or four times, what I'd say is that its popularity makes it unsuited for the rider that is determined to set personal bests with every outing. Families out for a stroll, many University of Oregon students out for a run, couples out for a bit of outdoor romance make the trail best suited for a leisurely, and quite beautiful, excursion.

Edgewater Trail

Two Parks, One Trail

March, 2014 by wolf2947

A railroad bridge, converted to a pedestrian and bike bridge, connect Riverfront Park, on the east side of the Willamette River to Wallace Marine Park on the west side.

Thanks to the bridge, the paved trails that wind through Riverfront Park connect to the trails and softball fields of Wallace Marine Park, and on to the streets of West Salem.

This trail's well-maintained, paved trails, and riverside location make it a popular destination.
