West Fork River Trail

Had a nice cool ride today. 32 degrees. Trail is pretty good. I only had to go off in one spot where the trail was washed out. Most of the trail is paved, so this is a good alternative if there has been any rain.

Bridgeport Rail Trail

If you’re a mountain goat

We went up park side and it is so steep I fell over. It is paved but dangerous for most.

Deckers Creek Rail-Trail

Steady climb

September, 2025 by arlene.deardorff

We just rode this trail and it had lots of leaves. It was hard to look at the creek and waterfalls as we had to keep our head down on the many ridges. There are no immediate restrooms along the trail. We got off at Masonville and was directed to Ace Hardware where they had 2 restrooms at the back of the store. We ate at Subway in Reedsville but that was not easy getting there. There is a garden cafe nearby but it’s open Friday-Sunday.

Brooke Pioneer Trail

Pleasant Trail

September, 2025 by pturner2

We were passing through the area and looking for a trail to ride for a couple of hours. The Brooke Pioneer trail was nice. For the mostpart away from roads with the Ohio River to the west. It merged into the Wheeling Heritage Trail seamlessly. IMO its not a destination trail but very nice for a 25 mile ride RT while in the area. We didn't do all of the Wheeling Heritage trail due to time limits but enjoyed what we did. (We raced a tugboat pushing a barge upstream and won!) (bragging rights - no prizes)

Great Guernsey Trail

Great Trail

June, 2025 by tomc1973

7 mile trail that is very straight, very flat with sections of shade and sun. There are a handful of roads that cross the trail so stops are at a minimal. There are several structures and benches to stop and relax at. The first part of the trail runs between a swamp and later the Leatherwood Creek with the back end running along OH State Route 265. There is a good size park at mile 6 that has some parking. The trail dead ends at mile 7 with no access for vehicles. There appears to be room for expansion beyond mile 7 someday.

Hellbender Preserve Trail

Short But Sweet

June, 2025 by sofiarae03

Brand new trail with a lot to see! Only 1.5 miles, this trail is perfect for a stroll along the stream on a nice day. It has plenty of benches in ideal spots and signage about the history of the railroad. The bridge and long tunnel are fascinating trail features that break up the forested areas. Lots of birds and wildlife. It starts at a decently sized parking lot and ends next to a road. Definitely recommend for anyone close by!

Harrison South Rail Trail

Lost Creek

June, 2025 by davidspeno

We rode north out of Lost Creek for seven miles. The trail is pretty rough gravel at its southern end and lots of single-track. Also, unfortunately it had not been mowed.

Tree down

Great trail. However there is a tree down in the trail 5 miles north of Pricketts Fort entrance.

Greene River Trail

short but fun

Up and back will get you close to 15 miles. The trail is well maintained and looks like they are expanding it. The old line has been cleared to the rail bridge. I am looking forward to that.

National Pike Trail

Claysville rail trail

This trail is great for walking not riding. Only 2 miles but you get two tunnels. The old rail line has 4 tunnels going to wheeling wv

Great American Rail-Trail

Warden to Lind

Ok section, kind of dull. Agriculture & cows. Found a bit of shade by a grain elevator for lunch. Several washouts filled with tumbleweeds as you get closer to Lind.
