Great Trail

June, 2025 by revswife

This is a beautiful and easy trail to ride. There are several roads to cross that connect the trail, all are well marked except the last part of it that leads into Brookside, thankfully some other bikers road next to us to tell us where the rest of the trail picked up. It is also very well shaded. I would recommend this trail.

Spring 2025 Ride

April, 2025 by pjbradfield

Wife and I rode two sections, first east from Cedartown for about 21 miles to just past the large tunnel. The first 4 miles (or so) is extremely challenging with a number of very steep grades. Our second ride was from Coots Lake trail head , again east for about 20 miles. This is a much easier ride with easy hills.

Overall this is a beautiful trail that is well marked. My only complaint was that every single water fountain we stopped at was inoperative.

Silver Comet Trail and Chief Ladoga Trail

We rode the full 91 miles from West of Atlanta to Alabama in mid March. It is a well maintained concrete trail that travels through the countryside. It is 95% a straight gradual inclined or decline, except for a few miles in the middle of the trail where there are quite a few hills. These hills are due that the existing rail trail was sold to private owners so they had to reroute approximately 5 miles section around the hills in the area. At approximate mile marker 43 we stayed at the Manor at Beck’s Lake bed-and-breakfast. I would highly recommend the B&B. These two trails are one of the best continuous trails I have ever written. Highly recommend.

Managed to do the whole trail today. We weaved in and out of crowds around the ballparks and even went by the lake. Beautiful ride. A few stops but only one over a moderately busy road. Very well thought out trail. ¿

great trail

Rode from Rambo trailhead north to Van Wert in early March 2025. I think this is the best part of the trail. Very quiet and scenic with few road crossings and the trail is in excellent condition.

Awesome ride!

February, 2025 by chipmattox

After riding a couple of rail trails in Ga and Al my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed having this non-typical ride. The long straights of open asphalt being replaced with wide curvy smooth cement was refreshing. The trail is very well maintained and marked. Love the yellow center lines that keep traffic safe. The primary loop has long spaced center lines and the spurs loops or legs have shorter lines making it easy to know which path you want to take. Plenty of resting spots, and restroom facilities along the route. We have done the winter trip now and will be back for a spring trip after the bloom. Hats off to the Carrollton trail maintenance team.

Great Ride and Overall Experience

December, 2024 by rjohns512

My wife and I rode this trail for the first time today. What a great trail system. Lots of elevation and wide trails. Smooth ride and no trail issues at all. It’s amazing how high some of the sections are. Parking was great and we enjoyed both parks!
