I parked by the Veteran's Park and rode this trail in July. The west end was nice with the round-about, sculptures and railroad items. Going east the surface was concrete for a while. When it crossed Curtis St, it changed to gravel. The gravel section varied or alternated between a little on the rough side to smoother crushed or packed gravel or dirt. All was manageable. (My tires were 35). The trail loosely followed along Hwy 20/East Yellowstone Hwy so hearing traffic noise is to be expected. A rider does have to go over cattle guards twice since there is open range for cattle in between them, but it was a short distance. I didn't see any cattle and it wasn't a problem. At the east end, it just ends near a dirt road called S Pou Rd. Turn around and enjoy the ride back.
At that intersection of Curtis St where it changes from concrete to gravel, there is a gas station with convenience store (Loaf 'N Jug). Sorry, I don't know the mileage of it in relationship to the Veteran's Park. That was the only place along the trail easily accessible for food, water and restrooms. I did not see restrooms at the Veteran's Park and I didn't explore buildings at the west end. Time constraints limited me to just riding the trail. Other eateries were a little farther off from the trail.
Discovered this comfortable place with great accommodations for two bike travelers. They offer a pullout sofa if you do not wish to share a bed. Indoor bike storage with a comfy bed and a hot shower! Distillery right next-door and two restaurants to fuel up in the morning to get back on the trail. Close to the panhandle of West Virginia. Their name is Harmony Trail Haven on Airbnb.
This is a great trail that gets you all around Cheyenne. Multiple underpasses that keep you off busy roads/road crossings. Nice surface, well built and the signage is great. Love riding this trail after work and you can string together a decent amount of miles if you do an out/back and even a nice loop if you just want to get out for a ride and mostly stay off the road. Super happy to have this trail in my backyard. One caution: approach the underpasses slowly in the spring/early summer as some of them get flooded but you can go around pretty easily on the road and get back on the main trail fairly quick.
Rode out from Riverton for eight miles & back. Nice ride, some spots a little rough but overall a nice trail. A tubeless setup is a definite must as my tires were full of goatheads when I finished. But no flats. Today was a cool overcast day, not a summer ride as there is no shade or water available. Fall colors were beautiful.
This is a very nice trail for walking or running, but the cracks in the asphalt every 10-20 feet are jarring on a bike. We parked at Optimist Park where there are restrooms and easy trail access. Loved the views along the Laramie River, the Aspen trees, and native wildflowers. There are a few benches along the trail.
Road this last week 6/8/25 tons of wild flowers and the Tetons are spectacular.
Saw this from the interstate so we got off and rode it. Nice, needs some post winter love, but a nice little break from driving. Would love if it went further into town, or further south along the river.
Ok section, kind of dull. Agriculture & cows. Found a bit of shade by a grain elevator for lunch. Several washouts filled with tumbleweeds as you get closer to Lind.
We started in Akron and rode about 18 miles north. Loved it!!!
Nice ride along the river although industrial in places. Not well marked in spots…. Look for faint traces of blue paint. We got two flats from “goat heads”. Resulted in a trip to Mountain sports in Casper and $220 worth of Tannus liners. Ouch.
Fabulous views, wildlife , car free connections to campgrounds, trailheads, restaurants, Jackson trail system!!! 10 ft wide paved trail ( section near airport getting lumpy and could use attention) . Connects to Jenny Lake Scenic Road’s dedicated bike lane, and awesome quiet back roads. IMO the best biking in the US!
