The college town of Davis is famous for its bikeability, due in part to the network of neighborhood greenways planned into the community as it grew. This series of bike paths crisscrosses the northwestern part of Davis, connecting schools, workplaces and residential subdivisions together. Scenery includes everything from farm country and subdivisions to urban areas and city parks. The trails are great jogging and bicycling routes for area residents and visitors.
Parking for the North Davis Greenways can be found on adjacent neighborhood streets. Be sure to obey any posted parking restrictions.
Davis California is very beautiful with its greenspaces weaving throughout the residential areas. Northstar Park and the surrounding greenspaces show what urban landscaping should look like. In the hot California valley, shade is very important and these greenspaces have plenty. The greenspaces do cross roads in a couple of places but generally the path goes through tunnels under the roads. On weekends there are lots of walkers; so take care regarding speed.
