A suburban sidepath trail that runs along the western edge of Rochester, Minnesota, the West Circle Drive Bike Path provides an important link in the city's expanding trail network. The path runs between Wellington Lane in the south, where it joins with the Salem Road Bike Path, and Valleyhigh Road in the north, forming an intersection with the Valleyhigh Bike Path. Along the way, the path takes you by the beginning of the Cascade Creek Trail and the city's Mohn Park and Cascade Lake Park, which provide a host of recreational opportunities and an off-road pathway that leads east into the heart of Rochester.
While the trail is little more than a wide, asphalt sidewalk, it offers pedestrians and cyclists a pleasant alternative to the busy roadway, allowing trail users to navigate the hilly landscape on foot or bike. The path does involve frequent road crossings, as it alternates between the east and west sides of the road, so be sure to exercise caution and follow traffic signals when crossing.
Parking is available nearby along the Cascade Lake Trail and Cascade Creek Trail at Cascade Lake Park, located at 88 23rd Avenue SW. Follow the trails west through Mohn Park and cross at 3rd Street to reach the trail.
