I saw a couple of Bald eagles by Revellie Park!
This is the perfect bike route for great flat rides and also a good number of small hills and elevation changes. The Dairy Ashford to Beltway 8, Eastbound section is the most challenging in my experience. The whole route distance is a nice balanced route for a really good workout.
We headed West and the only thing is that sometimes the trail ends and you have to go on the other side to continue but besides that it was a smooth ride, I recommend just be safe and maybe ride with a friend
This was the first time me and my friend rode this trail and we thought it was really nice, we parked at the parking lot on Almeda and rode East but didn't get too far due to some construction but we headed
The trail is wonderful. Very scenic. Well maintained and marked. Wonderful for biking or running.
If you start out in spring and head towards the rest of the trail there is a piece where it just ends. You literally have to walk/ride/run along the busy highway and then cut down a hill of tall grass to connect back on the trail.. super stupid.
We love riding this trail, because not only is it an interesting & pretty ride along the river, but also you really feel like you’re in the wilderness & away from it all. Path is in good condition & well marked
Don’t bother parking in the north lot and trying to ride the trail depicted on the map. Trail completely closed and blocked 1 1/2 mile south of the parking lot. Rrrrrrrrr….
I walked this today because it was close by. It is a very well kept trail. There is no shade so choose your time of day wisely. It was not crowded at all but that may have been due to the heat. I’ll definitely be back.
We started Downtown and traveled NW to north of 610 a good ways.
Had to jump on another trail briefly where there is trail construction taking place. Stopped at Patterson Park to cool off and have a cold beverage.
All in all we really enjoyed the trail. Good signs are in place to let you know intersecting streets in some areas. Will be on this trail again.
My first and all time favorite bike trail in Houston. Public art installations along the path, water features, dog park, beautiful people & beautiful skyline view. ¿
