There are a few areas where you have to pedal hard to go up a hill, but for the most part the trail is pretty flat. Beautiful ride!
Connects to White Rock Lake as well if you want to continue.
As you get closer to the Deep Ellum end, there are a handful of stops signs you'll have to endure due to main roads, but there are crosswalks and safety precautions.
We have been riding the concrete path on the Spring Creek Trail across from the Botanical Gardens for the past year. They have put up a new Center and trails. One goes way up the hill and one goes around the woods. Lovely and fun. We saw today 4 Armadillos, Great Blue Heron, hundreds of birds and 2 bunnies. Today we explored an area that we thought were just houses but come to find out, another 4 miles of trails. We ended up just off of Aldine Westfield. It was a wonderful 10 mile ride today and there is plenty of room for bikers and walkers. Very impressed!! Great Job Spring Creek Trail!!
Wide paved paths great for walking. Decent amount of foot traffic. If you enjoy looking at houses and power lines this trail is for you. Great for beginning EUC and one wheel riders due to the wide paved path and grass on each side.
Through neighborhoods and along creek side greenbelts and parks, it’s a pleasant meander on a cool evening. The 6-lane road crossings are a little tedious but worth it.
We came at dusk tonight, mid June, beautiful trail in a suburban neighborhood. A pond, a park, a bridge or two, and lots and lots of trees! We even saw fireflies on our way back to the car. Good wide pavement.
Our first ride on our new bikes was this one. Loved it! A lot of great shade in the afternoon. A great ride to just get out and enjoy the day. Kept up very nicely and plenty of space for walkers and riders.
My wife and I just got new bikes and rode on the Katy Trail today. A little crowded with pedestrians. There is a ped trail that is underutilized. Other than the crowded trail, it was great. Nice to see people out. Loved the shade and kept up nicely.
My family and I rode the Katy Trail south intending on riding the Turtle Creek Trail back north (partially, anyhow). It isn’t marked, obvious, maintained, or clean. Pretty embarrassing to be listed as an option. I am guessing that the Katy Trail was built and the city left this one to die.
Safe, smooth, shaded, wide, with option around Lake Viridian for more length. MTB Trails also available.
Decent smooth surfaces. Diverse urban scenery. Needs better signage in southern portion in Lewisville
Good urban trail..smooth surface.. signage needs improvement in southern Lewisville portion.
Great trail to start the day. I only did part of the trail today, just under 7 miles total, but I will be back to do the whole trail. Friendly people, beautiful scenery, and safe walking conditions.
