This is a wonderful trail that we walk on almost everyday. However since school has started back in August, the Southlake Carrol IDS has completed taken over the entire trail from Precinct Line Road to Bransford Rd from 6:30 am to 7:30 am on weekday mornings. They run in packs and across both side of the trail leaving no room as they run for anyone else to utilize this portion of the trail as they run back and forth from Bransford Rd to Precinct Line Road. The other runners, walkers and bikers have no where to pass as they take the entire width of both marked lanes of the path for this hour of the mornings. They do not observe staying on the right side and passing on the left of the marked trail. We have contacted the Southlake Carrol ISD Athletic Director in hopes that she could get with the coaching staff to help advise them to follow trail etiquette if they needed to continue to utilize this portion of the trail. This was not the case. Now there is a "coach" that rides his e-bike with a speaker playing loud music riding on the left side of the trail as he leads the herd of runners down the trail. This portion of the trail is not in Southlake city limits and I wish that the Southlake Carrol ISD would find a more suitable location to run that would allow the local residents to enjoy the use of this portion of the trail as it is cleat that they have no intention of allowing anyone else to safely use this portion of the trail.
The trail seems fine and maintained but you're just kinda walking in a big circle with not much to look at, would have liked more trails that cut off into the woods cause the nature in the area is actually quite interesting!!
Make sure you read the description all the way through. I rode my hybrid street bike on this trail and glad my tires were not affected by the gravel. Good to know my tires held up well. All in all a lovely trail. I wish I had known about it when my kids were younger. It appears they did a nice job of adding educational signs along the first quarter mile from the Ridgemont entrance. Also more interpretive signs along most trail.
Entered through the Grapevine Mills Mall area on a bicycle just make sure you got good brakes.A lot of shade. The view is very nice. Recommended go check it out.
This is a nice short trail but we always ride this trail out and back and then connect to other trails riding along the Frisco trails bike lane to McCormick park and then lake front trails! Makes for a nice long ride !
We ride this trail all the time ! It is a safe, scenic ride and when connecting to other trails. We can get a 30 mile ride in!
My wife &I were surprised by the nice trail here in “Wax”-town. But even more so was the sections I could ride my mountain bike like it should be ridden! Thanks!
I biked this trail a couple of days ago. Nice scenery along the creek. Well maintained. Bikers beware, there are several sets of stairs.
I loved this trail. Beautiful scenery, very lively, lots of birds and flowers. The pond is relaxing. We even saw a blue heron. Highly recommend!
It was a great trail and well paved for biking or skating. We saw a snake so be careful but it was very beautiful. Can’t wait to see the rest of it.
We planned to ride both legs, but the one that ends at McArthur is closed about a mile out from Lone Star Park. We turned around and completed the western leg as planned. Not surprisingly, lots of rocks and pot holes on that trail. There was a lot of tree debris on the western leg. Not sure if it was the day of the week or time (Tuesday @ around 1000), but we were the only ones on the trail. It was a nice trail but I would have been more comfortable with a bit more activity.
