Buffalo Bayou Trail

great change of pace

December, 2019 by eugene.r.schwanbeck

Riding under the roads above with rolling hills is a stark contrast to trees and parks on Allen parkway. This trail has it all, always a fun ride as short or as long as needed. The pedestrian bridges are a nice touch too!

West White Oak Bayou Trail

Best trail in Houston

December, 2019 by eugene.r.schwanbeck

I ride this trail as much as possible, very nice, scenic, and clean. Going through the heights is always fun and the views leaving and entering the city area are really great!

Brays Bayou Greenway Trail

pleasant ride

December, 2019 by eugene.r.schwanbeck

Yes some parts are missing or under construction but overall it was a nice ride passing by the medical center and the zoo. Some sections seem newer than others so it’s getting better all the time.

Columbia Tap Rail-Trail

passes through questionable neighborhoods

December, 2019 by eugene.r.schwanbeck

Starting in the warehouse district by BBVA stadium is not bad, going through the neighborhoods towards Brays Bayou is questionable at beat. So much garbage on the trail made it feel like riding though a landfill. Lots of people loitering, we did not feel safe. My son asked if we could take a different route back. Travel at your own risk.

George Bush Park Hike and Bike Trail

Great for speed in the early AM; by noon it is toddler city

November, 2019 by hwoodatty

Not much by way of elevation, no appreciable mountain biking, otherwise very nice.

West White Oak Bayou Trail

easy 5

October, 2019 by whitesj40

Great trail. Takes a little time to find the beginning. Only 3 road crossings.

Brays Bayou Greenway Trail

cityscape ride

October, 2019 by whitesj40

Started from Braeburn Glen Park end and rode into the city. Until you reach 610 all of the road crossings involve going through the intersections and Houston traffic is not great at watching for bicycles. Certainly would be tough with kids. The paths are being worked on still but they are nice and wide where complete. Road and bayou construction breaks up the trail just before the medical center but after that you can ride fairly well in the bayou without so many road crossings. The bayou is a concrete lined channel all the way to MacGregor Park. So don’t expect a picturesque river. There are however fish visible throughout the length of the channel.

Terry Hershey Park Hike & Bike Trail

nice and clean

October, 2019 by mattia.a

10 miles of clean and wide concrete roads to be shred with pedestrians. Sometimes you can deviate into gravel trials and vary the experience. You will enjoy this easy trial for sure.

Library Loop Trail

Extended!

June, 2019 by pacograph

The trail has been extended to at least 5 miles and crosses under about 4 streets including Westpark Tollway and leads into Harwin Park just before you reach Aurthur Storey Park. Plenty of Help stations along with benches.

THIS IS SUCH A NICE TRAIL!

June, 2019 by jenatolla007

Not too hilly but still a challenge for a recreational rider and it’s just beautiful! It’s amazing being able able to start in The Houston Heights and end in downtown! BTW: thank u Donald at TrailLink for helping w/ app issues. Great organization! TrailLink is a FANTASTIC source for trails all over Houston. Highly recommend.

Halls Bayou Greenway Trail

Doesnt feel safe

May, 2019 by dranett50

It is isolated..no-one uses. You can't get off in the event of an emergency, how do you get help. I see no law enforcement presence.

Brays Bayou Greenway Trail

Crappy

May, 2019 by dayterj

Though this is nice by Hermann Park. Getting to the nicer part you have to deal with narrow path and points where you are in the road and crossing traffic and train tracks.
In my opinion it needs to be on both sides of the bayou, wider and paved from beginning to end.
