Glad for hike and bike trail near my house (no trailering to start) but not fond of the trail paralleling busy roads. I’m in it for the leisure ride, not a road warrior.
Nice long mostly flat trail. Shaded areas and not as crowded as most! One issue was the flooding on the day I rode that cut off the crossing so I was not able to ride the trail all the way out to NW Hwy! Hopefully it gets drained soon so I’m able to do a full ride next time
There’s 3 different sort of biomes I guess, prairie, creek forest, and normal forest. We got lost twice in the Creek forest. It was great.
The blue trail has opened an extension in May 2021 that can add an extra 2 miles to the trail. And if you don’t want to do an out and back on this paved extension, you can simply go down a paved path and pick the blue trail back up at a lower level.
More like a side walk on one side of the park, then small regular side walk.
Beautiful trails in the midst of plant and animal life.
Very nice wide trail thats good for taking a nice long run. The dirt is packed but very easy on your joints. There is plenty of space to go around people without having to break your stride.
Took me 20 minutes to just exit the parking lot since there was no parking and an incredible mass of people not even bothering to wear masks. Big waste of time and gas money bothering to go up there and not have access.
I love this trail! The trail itself is 1 mile, but living at the complex’s around Grapevine Mills/The trail, it is a perfect 2.12 mile loop from my front door! Also some of the complex’s have direct access to the trail, so if your looking for a place to live with trails, you found it! The trail is 10 feet wide, paved, winding, and as a female I feel safe running this trail as Apt complex is on one side and the golf course/creek is on the other.
Thank you City of Carrollton. Put on 800+ miles on my bike this year with Covid. When will the Old Denton extension to Rosemeade and beyond be completed?
Great for biking or walking. Crosses a few major roads but does so at red lights.
Good Paved Roads, Good Combination of Parks in area, Good mixture of curve and straight ways, Good patches of wooded areas
There is a finished bridge crossing over to the Dallas side of the Trinity Levee, just not opened yet and no paved trails
Occasionally you will smell the Landfill near the trail, Kamikaze Grasshoppers like to hop when you are riding, please wear Eye protection
Snake crossing path
