Brushy Creek Regional Trail

Nice well maintained trail

September, 2020 by brooke.udy

Went for a bike ride with my husband this morning. From Stone Creek Pool parking lot to the Twin Lakes YMCA parking lot and back it was 15 miles. There were a lot of hikers, bikers, runners, dog walkers on the trail however it was a Saturday morning with cool weather so congestion was expected. There are lots of things to see along the trail (creeks, waterfall, lakes, rock formations, trestle bridge) and it is well maintained. Plan to return to the trail soon!

Waco Riverwalk

A Must if You Are Visiting Waco (and you should!)

September, 2020 by david592

The Waco Riverwalk Trail is a delightful trip near the beautiful Brazos River and Cameron Park, and into historic Downtown Waco. The Waco Suspension Bridge (of Roebling BEFORE the Brooklyn Bridge) is not to be missed. Many food truck and restaurant options on the East end of the trail. The marvelous Cameron Park Zoo and the Park itself with its spectacular topography is on the West end.

Randy Morrow Trail

Unbelievably fun. Mostly shaded year round.

Wonderful ride. Don't take it too seriously when biking. Pedestrians are all over. Most are aware of you and will move when you announce, but be prepared for those who do not understand what SHARE THE TRAIL means.

Northern Walnut Creek Trail

Wildflowers

August, 2020 by sarah.nichols.9803

This is a great, easy urban trail that winds through a scenic greenbelt area. Throughout the spring and early summer, wildflowers abound. It’s easy to extend the ride by linking this trail to the Shoal Creek Trail by using trails through the Pickle Center and the Domain.

Brushy Creek Regional Trail

Entitled bike riders

August, 2020 by scott358

I like to hike this trail but find that too many bike riders think they’re entitled to ride fast and own the trail two abreast. I’ve seen really disappointing behavior, especially now that more of us are at home and looking for ways to exercise outdoors. There are dedicated bike lanes and shoulders on Parmer. Let them use those if they have to ride fast.

Nolan Creek Hike and Bike Trail

beautiful!

Our dog loved it. There are plenty of ducks and wildlife to watch and nice wide paved trails. My favorite Bell County find so far!

Friars Creek Hike & Bike Trail

just not the best

July, 2020 by jade33040

The litter situation appears to have improved, but the trail is a bit grown up so you can’t see the creek or keep a good lookout for critters. Definitely nicer than some I’ve seen in other cities but personally I probably won’t be back.

Gilleland Creek Trail

Skating was so-so

June, 2020 by christinanisse

There were portions of this trail that were really enjoyable on to skate. Some areas had large smooth concrete slabs allowing for some decent striding. However, there were a few portions that had smaller slabs with larger gaps that threatened to dislodge my fillings. The scenery was nice, especially near the trail head where the creek was visible. We went on a Sunday evening and it took about an hour and a half to skate. We saw a park where neighboring chickens were hanging out on the playground. The traffic was mainly pedestrian with some bicycle and a couple other skaters.

Nolan Creek Hike and Bike Trail

...Great walking trail

June, 2020 by mtstmichel52

After relocation to Belton TX from OR, I am thrilled to have an outdoor area such as this to walk our fur-babies and enjoy the sound of the running creek waters...nothing can take the beauty away from OR, but this rural area and Belton in itself was a great place to relocate....the one thing I would like to see is less canine waste...I always carry 3-4 empty bags with me..but I will not pick-up other animals waste....it is not that big of a deal to respect others walking or biking areas...just saying...not sure if horses are allowed on trail, but this past weekend there was a significant amount of horse waste along the paths...maybe a reminder to the public would be helpful.
