Continental Avenue Bridge

Great Urban Adventure

March, 2020 by sharkinson

Wonderful trail across bridge connecting Trinity Groves restaurants in South Dallas to Downtown Dallas. Playground on bridge makes it fun for the family! Can see Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge and overlooks the Trinity River. Can bike, walk or ride scooters. Nearby parking or accessible from Trinity Skyline Trail.

Chisholm Trail

Easy riding

March, 2020 by mmezedd_tl

The Chisholm Trail is a well maintained, paved, neighborhood ride that passes behind many beautiful houses and shopping areas and connects many small playgrounds. It is wide, well marked and mostly flat and goes underneath any major road so is a continuous ride. . It is mostly sunny and exposed. There is no parking at Chisholm Trail Park at one end but you can park in a nearby elementary school on Marchman Way. The easiest parking is at the other end at Harrington Park. The Bluebonnet trail links with it near the dog park. I have found conflicting sites stating the distance of the completed loop from Legacy Drive to Harrington park down one side and then back the other side of the creek.

Campion Trail

closer due to flooding.

March, 2020 by kennytavon

As I used to live right off of Lake Carolyn , this used to be my go to running, cycling and rollerblading trail. I have since moved yet I still return every so often. It is a great, wide paved trail but it’s not super crowded. Currently it is closed due to flooding of the Trinity and none of the access points are open at least in the Irving area

SoPac Trail

SoPac Trail

January, 2020 by randy86

Thanks City of Dallas and all those on the SoPac Trail neighborhood planning teams. The SoPac Trail is getting more active by the day and will really come to life this spring (2020) when the sod greens up and with the planting of a Butterfly Garden, just past the Mockingbird overpass. Surface is clean, flat and perfect for runners, walkers and cyclists. Neighbors have also been planting trees, agave, wildflowers and keeping the trail tidy. A creative plan to paint over graffiti is also in the works. More info at Friends of the SoPac Trail on Facebook.

Cottonwood Creek Trail (Allen)

Great place for kids!

January, 2020 by slrange00

Went with the kids today. They are ages 13, 12 and 10. They had a blast. The majority of the trail also has a forested trail we took instead. That was a lot more fun than staying on the paved trail. As an extra bonus, we doing 2 of the 6 geocaches hidden close by!

Campion Trail

Long, lovely ride

October, 2019 by mmezedd_tl

It's nice to find a wide trail, well paved, concrete, mostly uncovered so hot in the summer. No great elevation changes so many cycle clubs on the route. There's an equestrian trail that parallels part of it near Spring Trail Park that makes for a nice mountain bike or running path. Passes through some nice suburban parks and wooded areas. Parking mid trail at the police station at the Spring Trail Park.

White Rock Lake Park Loop Trail

Nice city ride

October, 2019 by mmezedd_tl

It's unusual to find such a nice, well maintained loop in the city where you can park and ride easily. Well used with many walkers, dogs and kids to watch out for but most are watchful of being passes. It's an easy scenic loop with pretty lake view for most of it . The trail connects to the White Rock Creek path if you want more distance.

Katy Trail (Dallas)

Great City Ride

October, 2019 by mmezedd_tl

This is a lovely, easy urban ride, usually quite busy but manageable traffic. Lots of walkers with dogs and people to dodge but mostly disciplined users who keep right and expect to be passed on the left. Separate path for walkers in quite a bit of it. Runs through beautiful neighbourhoods and by interesting eateries. Starts near the Magnolia Dart station with parking in nearby city park with baseball field and abruptly ends near the AA stadium.

Chaparral Rail Trail

A pleasant ride

October, 2019 by mmezedd_tl

The five miles from the Onion shed in Farmersville to around the junction with FM 2194 is wide, well maintained and easy riding for most any bicycle. After that is it gravelly and very overgrown and more suitable for a mountain bike . The route is very scenic and quiet with a lot of butterflies, cardinals and horses visible in the fields but few people or cars at the crossings.

Oak Valley Trail

Nice Trail

September, 2019 by metsys

This trail is not too bad. There’s a small parking lot on Oak Valley Park North. There’s a couple small hills that make it easier to ride. The uphill on the way back to the park was a little tough. My 7yr old daughter had to walk it back up.
