Palmetto Trail (Peak to Prosperity Passage)

Peaceful & solitary. Trestles need repairs

August, 2020 by ran2slow

This week I ran from the parking area near I-26 to Route 176 in Pomaria and returned to my starting point. This was 3 miles each way so I know it was a small portion of the overall trail. The trail feels secluded and peaceful once you get away from the interstate. I saw several deer and only one other user of the trail. After lots of rain this week the trail was well drained. As a previous reviewer mentioned, the surface is made of chunky rocks which is very bumpy for runners and cyclists. I rolled my ankle twice but fortunately no sprains. My biggest concern is that the trestle boards are in poor condition. I saw several that were broken through that could cause a pedestrian or cyclist to get hurt. I felt a couple boards crunch under me and I'm not a big person. One of the trestles I crossed used man-made boards and it seemed to be in the best condition. The next time they re-surface the trail I hope they use a finer aggregate which would make it more safer for everyone.

Great ride! The part through the park is under construction. Will definitely be back!

Little Sugar Creek Greenway

nice ride

August, 2020 by nja652

A nice ride through the city connecting several parks. Fairly flat with several turns and some great scenery. Only complaint is the northern part of the trail has a lot of street crossings and can be a little confusing to navigate back on the trail. Will definitely ride again though.

Bakers Creek Greenway

not really a trail

This is not really a trail it’s more of a walk through a neighborhood you legit walk through streets at some point to make it all the way around

Palmetto Trail (Peak to Prosperity Passage)

Great trail for mtn. bike newbies. Trail conditions are good. Get there early for best parking, trail is very popular with day hikers & runners.

Amazing Trail Spanning the Length of South Charlotte

May, 2020 by rgoldberg80

A great trail connecting some of the Southern-most parts of the city all the way up to North of Uptown - with just a few missing links that are currently in progress. When fully completely this will be an even bigger asset to every person in CLT. So many beautiful spots along the way, especially near Park Road Park and just North or Park Road Shopping Center.

Nice easy trail

This trail is nice and flat and mostly shady. it has easy access if you park at park off 700 E Garrison- the armory parking lot features a steep hill we didn’t want to navigate with strollers.

8th Street Greenway

A nice connector!

April, 2020 by ambermichellebeaver21

This .5 mile stretch is part of an entire 2 mile “loop”. This piece it’s self is awesome, but connecting this trail to Bakers Creek Greenway requires walking along a high traffic road.
