The Lincolnshire Trail is an asphalt pathway that shoots off from the longer Douglas State Trail, providing a short spur that gives cyclists and pedestrians access to the Lincolnshire-Arbor Glen neighborhood in northwest Rochester. The path leaves the rail-trail in a lovely, tree-lined corridor, surrounded by suburban parks and fields, but the trail quickly encounters suburbia as it passes along the edge of a huge shopping complex along 55th Street. Sidewalks can lead trail users east of the trail to Lincolnshire Park, home to a variety of athletic fields and open space.
The path crosses over the highway and comes to an end at Georgetowne Drive; on the north side of the road, the East 55th Street Bike Path continues east for another mile, leading to the start of the Zumbro North Trail, and creating an important connection in Rochester's trail network.
Parking is available near the trail at Lincolnshire Park, located on Members Parkway NW near the intersection with Nottingham Drive. Several city bus lines also provide service along 55th Street, with a stop at 26th Avenue NW.
