Nice quick ride from Lake Farm Park to McFarland but BUSY on a beautiful Saturday afternoon in fall! Continued biking on side streets which were less busy than the trail!!

Badger State Trail

Badger Trail much improved from the last several years.

October, 2020 by bikeandrun

I have had some rough riding over the years with rarely cut grass. This year the DNR has shifted gears and improved this trail a lot. The best I've rode in several years. Jane Adams hooks up to the Badger at the State line. Ruts and holes have really been worked on. And weeds cut as best as they can keep up with it. I have ridden this trail many times this year.
Excellent job, DNR. Keep it up. I have also seen more people walking, jogging and riding this and the Sugar Trails this year since I started in 1986 riding.

Used the trail to connect the Glacial drumlin to the Lake country. Makes for a nice loop.

Enjoy the Ride!

September, 2020 by lbbike

I rode this trail in its entirety today logging 61.2 miles. The only reason that I rated this trail as 4 instead of 5 stars are the segments on roads instead of the trail. I did try to carefully navigate and watch for the signs, but still got lost a few times. Aside from that, there were some really enjoyable scenic portions to the trail as you head further north. The bridge near Grafton (cover photo for this trail) was particularly awesome. I also enjoyed the lakefront park in Port Washington. Plenty of places to stop and eat if you so choose. The portion of the trail furthest north has the least amount of intersections, so it's great if you want to ride with minimal interruptions. All in all I enjoyed my ride, and would do it again!

Badger State Trail

We enjoyed writing on this trail as a family. The tunnels are closed, because there were rocks falling from the ceiling (We ran into one of the employees who monitors the trails).

Badger State Trail

DISAPPOINTED

September, 2020 by jkrause1125

Rode from Monroe to Monticello, and then to the Stewart Tunnel. Was told the tunnel was closed, but not monitored, so we could still ride thru. Not the case, tunnel entrance was gated and locked - disappointing. The trail itself had some pretty scenery but is not well maintained or mowed.

Badger State Trail

The Stewart Tunnel is closed off because it is structurally unsafe. It is also posted on The Friends Of The Suagar and Badger State Trails Website.

Bugline Trail

Bugline Trail-Enjoyed my ride

September, 2020 by lbbike

Today was my first ride on the Bugline. It is completely paved and well maintained. Parts of the trail are "rail-trail" and some are not. I lost my way several times as sidewalks are part of the trail through a couple of the towns. There are some longer sections through wooded areas, which are beautiful. I also drove by a quarry with a really blue lake, which was unexpected. As opposed to the relatively gradual grade of Rail-Trails, this one has some hills in it; one was relatively steep, but small.

I began my ride in Menomonee Falls, and the trail end is just east of North Lake. There is really nothing at the end of the trail but a driveway into a logging outfit.

Overall, I really did enjoy my ride, and would do it again!

Great trail

This trail is beautiful, well marked and maintained. Rode our bikes from Harrington Beach state park to Port Washington 11.6 miles each way. From Harrington Beach traveled on cedar beach road 3.3 miles to catch trail.

Go for the tunnel

Met some nice people on my trek here. The tunnel was closed but we were still able to go thru. Not sure why it is closed. Scenic trail with dirt gravel terrain. Goes thru a couple towns and can connect to other trails.

Military Ridge State Trail

Scenic

September, 2020 by marxdm

I did this trail twice to see what I missed. Mount Horeb is where I started the second time. Bustling with people there. Seems uphill headed towards Dodgeville. Winds thru a town. Woodsy but also watch out for sand! Nice part about Mount Horeb is the bathrooms were open and clean!
