great shady ride

May, 2020 by danielfarmer

great views and seclusion. i saw a deer drinking water just off the trail. the only drawback on this trail is lots of buckling from roots in the asphalt. otherwise, this is a great ride through the woods.

Mammoth Cave Railroad Bike & Hike Trail

Great mtn bike ride

The trail is down hill one way and uphill coming back. Save energy for the ride home. Beautiful scenery and you get some level ground where there are traverses. And the campground is great!

fun ride

May, 2020 by danielfarmer

saw some wild turkeys, beavers, an oriole, and other wildlife. pavement in great shape. nice and wide to accommodate walkers/joggers/cyclists. the maintenance crew was out cutting the grass today too, keeping it well kept up. nice little trail. wish we had more like it around south central KY.

Springfield Greenway

Outstanding

I am an avid trail bicycle rider and this is my favorite for middle Tennessee. Not too long but very well laid out and maintained. This coupled with the really nice park that joins it makes a wonderful public space with something for everyone.

Springfield Greenway

Easily accessible

This trail can be use by most anyone. It provides a wide variety of scenery and activities including creek (no swimming), playground, corn (when in season), pond, ducks, and much more. The trail is wide allowing easy passage. It is kept clean. There are several stopping points to meet your needs and several different parking accesses as well as trash cans. There is also a dog park at the Garner Street Park access which allows your dog to run free in a large fenced area. Please always, in the dog park and on the trail, clean up after yourself and your dog. Thank you.

I rode the trail 12/06/18 and it’s a great ride even at 40 degree temperatures.

Mammoth Cave Railroad Bike & Hike Trail

Beautiful Trail

Agree with previous reviews. Probably would have been better with mountain bike. Managed with hybrids. Beautiful and shaded. Rode from Zion Cemetery Rd to visitors center and return. Trail in great shape for most part, some loose gravel and sand made for moments of white knuckle ride.

Nice ups and downs

October, 2017 by markmoore006_tl

Can I give it 10 Stars? My Wife and I were out visiting different Greenways and today was our first time riding this one. We Loved it! Nice creeks along the way and there is not much flat at all. Some really nice ups to get your lungs and legs feeling it and some fun downs so make sure your breaks are not too worn out. Nothing at all boring about this path. We will be back to this one for sure!

Trail is a Jewel in west central Kentucky

September, 2017 by cfswenty

My wife and I rode the trail up and back from Greenville to Central City on September 9, 2017. Trail head parking in both Greenville and Central City is paved, convenient, and safe. Trail is paved and about 8-10 feet wide. Most of the trail is flat or gradual slopes, except a short steep hill near Central City. Vegetation along the sides of the trail was mowed and well kept. Old bridges near the wetlands do not have guard rails but trail is wide across the bridges. Lots of benches along the way. There are a few road crossings near Greenville but not hazardous. The trail is off the interstate and parkway corridors. It is not long but is a hidden gem.

Wonderful scenic trail. Agree that mountain bikes are best but we had hybrid tires and got along fine. Great experience and glad to add it to our list. A few steep climbs, but most of it is a moderate ride. I do think the trail could be marked better as there are lots of spurs. We had the trail map that kept is on the main route.

Amazing!

Extremely unique and beautiful trail. Love visiting the ducks/geese. However few kids ruined the enjoyment by kicking one. But the trail loops around the town, and it is actually longer if you visit the soccer field and distillery. Kid and pet friendly ;)

Great local and public trail

December, 2016 by bronson23_vincent

I'm in the military and have actually taken the Army Physical Fitness Test on this trail. We run 2 miles for record so they have a white posted line past Powderly to start from and will run to where the trail starts in Greenville across from Clarks Appliance Center. Soldiers like to take the running part of the PT Test there because instead of the normal 8 laps in a circle rubbing elbows with 60 other Soldiers it's a 1 way start to end run and halfway, 1 mile mark, you can see the finish line and mentally makes you more confident and run harder and Soldiers really improve their time. Also I have ridden the the trail several times on bicycle along with my children and have never had any trouble. We always ride up and back and stop at the swamp area to go up on the deck and view the wildlife. It is maintained well and has a lot of neat interesting features along the way. It is truly great having this in our local community and we are very fortunate.
