Trail de Paris

great paved trail, shaded

March, 2020 by esbee2

Connecting with Reno and Blossom trails gives about 10 miles of paved biking and hiking fun. There are water fountains, covered picnic tables, a little library, mile markers and of course, bathrooms. Lots of bird life, squirrels, occasional snake and of course lots of trees making for a shaded ride. ---- This is the best part of the trail that runs from Farmersville to New Boston, which many of those other sections are not yet paved.

Chisholm Trail

Easy riding

March, 2020 by mmezedd_tl

The Chisholm Trail is a well maintained, paved, neighborhood ride that passes behind many beautiful houses and shopping areas and connects many small playgrounds. It is wide, well marked and mostly flat and goes underneath any major road so is a continuous ride. . It is mostly sunny and exposed. There is no parking at Chisholm Trail Park at one end but you can park in a nearby elementary school on Marchman Way. The easiest parking is at the other end at Harrington Park. The Bluebonnet trail links with it near the dog park. I have found conflicting sites stating the distance of the completed loop from Legacy Drive to Harrington park down one side and then back the other side of the creek.

Cottonwood Creek Trail (Allen)

Great place for kids!

January, 2020 by slrange00

Went with the kids today. They are ages 13, 12 and 10. They had a blast. The majority of the trail also has a forested trail we took instead. That was a lot more fun than staying on the paved trail. As an extra bonus, we doing 2 of the 6 geocaches hidden close by!

Trail de Paris

Lovely ride

October, 2019 by mmezedd_tl

This is an easy ride from Paris to Blossom where it turns wild. Easy grade, wide, scenic, mostly sheltered path and little traffic. Suitable for any bike up to that point.

Chaparral Rail Trail

A pleasant ride

October, 2019 by mmezedd_tl

The five miles from the Onion shed in Farmersville to around the junction with FM 2194 is wide, well maintained and easy riding for most any bicycle. After that is it gravelly and very overgrown and more suitable for a mountain bike . The route is very scenic and quiet with a lot of butterflies, cardinals and horses visible in the fields but few people or cars at the crossings.

Spring Creek Trail (TX)

Beautiful heavily shaded!

September, 2019 by robbin.williams45

It's a beautiful nature walk or bike ride. Paved, bridges, rest areas, location signs and a very unique looking river. You can walk the concrete trail or walk the nature part up in the trees.

Oak Point Park & Nature Preserve Trail

Beautiful Sites!

Rode this trail the other day on my Townie. The ride was fantastic. Wide sidewalks and beautiful scenery! Lots of trees and the creek plays a huge presence!

Cottonwood Creek Trail (Allen)

Fantastic Cottonwood Creek Trail

September, 2019 by buggyreid

Thoroughly enjoyed this ride today! The historic dam in Allen is along the trail. Really cool to stop and look at. The trail had wide sidewalks. It wove through the trees and in some places you can see houses. It went under Exchange Parkway, Highway 75, and Stacy Road. The trail started in the historic section of Allen and ended at Lake Forrest and Sam Rayburn (hwy 121). Easy and such an enjoyable ride!

Oak Point Park & Nature Preserve Trail

Very nice, wide trails with lots of scenery.

January, 2019 by rwent1_tl

Very well maintained and wide trails that are away from traffic. The Bobcat Run "boardwalk" is especially nice and different. Many unpaved trails fork off from the mail paved trails for the off-roaders. Two ballooners took off from the adjacent Plano Balloon Festival area while I was there. Historical sites in the park, if you know where to look.

Bland HS to Farmersville

November, 2018 by kimperez

My kids go to Bland. I live 10 minutes from this trail and run it often. It would be perfect if we could resolve 2 issues: Dogs. Lots of them. Every time I go. I’ve been chased multiple times.
From Bland to Farmersville is great, but the “crushed rock” in the opposite direction from the school is not even walkable, much less a running surface. I hope we continue to see improvements to this trail. It’s almost a gem, but could be better.

Mesquite Heritage Trail

We had a great time.

April, 2018 by reginayoderbiz

The path is smooth with great gentle inclines/descents. Beautiful scenery along the way even though it’s in town. There’s a couple of busy crossings, but it’s doable.
