Rowlett Creek Trail

Meh

Wasn’t impressed. Narrow pathes, not overly clean. Was hoping trails from McKinney can connect into Allen and Plano but not so much.

Cotton Belt Trail

Trail Safely/Maintenance

May, 2020 by xomav12

I love this trail but I see a huge safety concern where it intersects Main St in NRH. Three posts are difficult to navigate between while simultaneously looking both ways for auto traffic. Removing the middle post would be the best solution and still would prevent autos from crossing there. Tried to drop a photo in here, couldn’t get that to work.

Oak Point Nature Preserve

This is a hidden gem right in the middle of Collin County. I have enjoyed this trail recently and plan to make it my primary destination as much as possible. Absolutely enjoy the trails and quiet nature of the park.

Preston Ridge Trail

good not great.

May, 2020 by ajkirk11

Unless I missed it the trail map doesn’t call out all of the intersections where you must stop and at some points weight a while for traffic to slow. It’s difficult to get up to speed for a substantial amount of time but it’s still a solid ride. Found a couple water fountains on the way but there are few - so stop if you need it. Rode a bike on the trail. * also not a ding against the trail but I missed the turnoff and accidentally went do a wrong stretch and had to double back. Not a big deal but pay attention.

I love to ride this trail. I will be glad when the construction at Cravens Park is finished so we can ride the entire trail again.

Tribute Shoreline Nature Trail

great hiking

May, 2020 by trentfb

This is a great trail with excellent scenery and views. It’s about 3 hrs round trip, all the way at the end is an awesome stretch if beach at the lake that is perfect for swimming with kids. Perfect fir a refreshing dip before heading back.

A-train Rail Trail

Poorly executed rail trail

April, 2020 by turbogeek_tl

I agree with the other negative reviewers. Great surface, but puts vehicle traffic (and train traffic) ahead of cyclists. Feels like a game of chicken where you hope you make it across the intersections in time. Worse are crossings where you can get wheels stuck in railroad track as the trail crosses from one side of the tracks to another. A series of small trails divided by high-speed traffic and train crossings. Can't get up to a reasonable pace before you have to stop again, look both ways, and pray yo make it accross. Should be redesigned with stop signs for cars at most intersections. Ride it once at least to be able to write another one-star review.

Bachman Lake Park Loop Trail

One and Done

April, 2020 by carolsallee

This trail is a good length for a walk—3.5 mile concrete trail around a man made lake with just a bit of shade. It seems like a popular place to walk, ride, or fish. However, it’s near Dallas Love, the light rail, and some busy streets. It’s like experiencing a sampling of transportation. It’s the first trail I’ve been on with lots of signs for calling 911. Not sure what that says about this trail. Park in the lots near Lakefield and Northwest. There are much prettier trails than this one.

Lakefront Trail (TX)

great ride

Very good trail. Family friendly

Chisholm Trail

Solid trail

April, 2020 by ajkirk11

Great trail with a lot of curves. The trail gets a little boring at parts but still better than the roads. Note: got lost and turned on the Blue Bonnet trail, had to circle back - not a critique on the trail more of an FYI.

Cottonwood Creek Trail (Allen)

Great city ride

April, 2020 by ajkirk11

Nice ride with plenty of curves. A little easy to get off trail which makes it fun. I suggest this trail hands down.
