Great for biking or walking. Crosses a few major roads but does so at red lights.

The Excitement:
There is a finished bridge crossing over to the Dallas side of the Trinity Levee, just not opened yet and no paved trails

The Bad:
Occasionally you will smell the Landfill near the trail, Kamikaze Grasshoppers like to hop when you are riding, please wear Eye protection
Snake crossing path

Trail map is wrong

October, 2020 by nigel.walker

This trail now goes from Windhaven/Spring Creek where there is a ton of parking at the Liberty Windhaven Park and goes North for about 3.5 to 4 miles to Buzz Rasor Park in Frisco. Its complete unlike the Trail map. All gaps are finished.

Chaparral Rail Trail

Nicely improved

October, 2020 by drbartbarber

I took a troop on a hike from Farmersville to Celeste on October 3. The section from Farmersville to Merit is, as mentioned in many reviews below, in excellent shape. From Merit to Celeste is vastly improved from work done over the summer of 2020. There are still large rocks in the gravel, and there are still areas that will probably pose a problem after a rain, but the underbrush has been cleared significantly and the road graded. One critique—the brush has been cut back so much that there is far less shade from Merit to Celeste than from Farmersville to Merit.

Cottonwood Creek Trail (Allen)

Allen has great personality

September, 2020 by sadsackiam

A really easy ride through nature, history, and amenities of Allen. Who knew? Allen Heritage Village. Hydrous (wake board training facility). Historic water station, railway, and bridges. Recreational facilities.

Ray Roberts Greenbelt

South side

September, 2020 by 57007code

Might open again as they cleared a log dam. The trail was slightly flooded but passable after a fair amount of early sept rain. The parking lot area might be damaged.

John Barfield Trail

Nice easy trail

September, 2020 by lkearns923

Seldom crowded. Easy to walk and bike. Some shade. A few forks you can take to get to cotton belt or cross through a neighborhood to get to Timbercreek park.

Mills Run Trail

nice

September, 2020 by ghstowe

This is a short trail but allows me to ride all the way to the lake while keeping off the road most do the time.

Santa Fe Trail (Dallas)

Great ride for family

August, 2020 by johnt2003

The route is smooth and paved. Great for pulling a bike trailer. It’s downhill from Deep Ellum to White Rock and obviously uphill on the return. Lol. Overall great out door activity for everyone.

Taychas Trail

relaxing stroll

August, 2020 by m45f545awp

What a nice trail! Wide enough for bikes & walking/running. The little foot paths to the limestone quarry & stream are great! It’s a short walk but looks promising that it is continuing up by the SRT!

C. Shane Wilbanks Trail

Dog Friendly

August, 2020 by drewett101

Enjoyed walking this trail this morning except the bikers come flying by you without any warning. The trees over hang the path in some areas which was nice but limits your visibility to see the lake.

Ridgewood Trail

one of my favorites for rollerblading

August, 2020 by n8xaaxb2jh

This trail is nice and smooth the entire way. It's a shorter one but I love it for rollerblading
