Trail makes for an excellent opportunity to just get some good exercise miles in. All paved, lights are usually on at night and you can enjoy a great view and the wind off of the lake the entire ride. Would definitely recommend if you are in the area and just looking for a place to ride.
started at golden pond and rode almost to cadiz Kentucky about 3 miles short had to turn around at 41 miles because of battery level really nice ride no dogs and met a few e-bike riders on the way they was really nice and informative.. the woods was clear and easy ride on my hunter pro E-bike.. there are stores along the way for you to stop when you get to lake barkley bridge you follow it down and under 69/80 and come up on other side snd its asphalt from there to cadiz which is about 16 miles easy ride.. when you see trigg county water tower on your right it about 11 miles from there u can go… have fun if you ride it its relaxing and NO DOGS.. total miles you can go from ky lake bridges to cadiz Kentucky is over 35 mile bike ride…
Paved, Gravel, Rocks, Sharp corners, lots of trees down, we had e-bikes which where trek bikes, I wouldn’t recommend trikes to not enough room for them to get over in the woods. We couldn’t get around a big fallen tree on the first part of the trail so we back tracked and went back to the truck and went to the end and started. We did get in 25 miles total.
Really enjoyed. I learned that the local public library will check out bikes for a dollar to its patrons. I just love that.
2.5-mile paved hike/bike trail has been established on the former right-of-way from downtown Cadi, KY. A great place to spend a couple of hours hiking or for a quick bike trip down a 110-year-old rail corridor. Part of the trail was closed near the park as 10/27/24.
Mostly flat and partly shady. Concrete. One long bridge with steep grade at each end. Phases 1 and 2 complete. Lots of benches, security cameras/emergency alerts.
Very shaded non technical trail with lots of ups and downs and turns. Beautiful wood with lots of birds! Recommend suspension bikes/trikes due to some rough rocky areas. This is our favorite non Rails to Trails ride!
This is a nice walking trail and is paved. Safe area and right behind the downtown area of Erin. Sweet little town.
Just an FYI that this trail is also called the Central Hardwood Scenic Trail. We tried riding from the Golden Pond Visitor Center but it quickly became rugged and too much for us. We went to the Sunset Trailhead and road East on the paved section. We totaled 16 miles but could’ve gone further. If you’re in the area, Calvert City also has a nice path thru the town and city parks.
Not sure why this trail is called Lake Barkley Multi-use Path as it actually begins at the Kentucky Lake portion of Land Between the Lakes (LBL). Regardless, we rode a total of 13 miles back & forth along this path taking in the beautiful lake scenery. After crossing the lake toward Fenton we considered riding over toward the LBL visitor center. However, being the Memorial Day weekend auto traffic was rather hectic so we opted to forego that portion of our ride and simply rode back across the bridge a few times. Tomorrow we’re heading toward Lake Barkley and plan to ride that area as it appears there’s a protected longer riding trail in that direction. Worth it !!!
