On the northwestern edge of Rochester, the 50th Avenue Bike Path runs across over two miles of rolling hills, an asphalt sidepath trail that follows the west side of the road as it passes through open fields and developing suburban neighborhoods. The path helps provide a connection between several other sidepath trails in Rochester, and also offers access to the Douglas State Trail, one of the area's most popular recreational assets. Unlike many sidepath trails, the 50th Avenue Bike Path actually provides some nice scenery along the route, with lovely corn fields and woods bordering much of the trail as it climbs up and down the hilly landscape.
Parking is available near the trail in White Oaks Park, located on 55th Street NW just east of 50th Avenue. From the park, you can either head west along 55th Street or use the Douglas State Trail to reach 50th Avenue via Harvest Lake Drive.
