A connected sidepath trailway that follows the route of High Resort Boulevard, Ridgecrest Drive, and Arrowhead Ridge Drive, the High Resort Boulevard Trail provides a paved path for cyclists and pedestrians to follow across a swath of residential and commercial areas in Rio Rancho. The trail's western end meets up with the end of the Broadmoor Boulevard Trail, which can be used to connect to a variety of destinations further north, and the eastern end of the trail merges into the New Mexico 528 Rec Path, which follows the side of the state highway.
Starting in the east by the highway, the trail heads west into residential developments situated behind suburban shopping centers, continuing a slow and steady uphill climb on the aptly-named Ridgecrest Drive. The trail runs through a span of undeveloped land a short distance from the roadway, before returning to the roadside along High Resort Boulevard just before the entrance to the sports complex at Arroyo de Deportes Park, which hosts facilities for baseball, tennis, and soccer. Benches along the trail allow you to catch your breath as you continue to climb, although there is no shade to be had along the trail, which comes to an end in a residential area along Broadmoor Boulevard.
Parking is available along the trail at Arroyo de Deportes Park and the Rio Rancho Sports Complex, located at 3501 High Resort Boulevard SE.
