The Sara Road Trail follows a suburban, residential street just off one of Rio Rancho's main drags, providing a shortcut between other sidepath trails in the community's extensive trail network. With a wide asphalt path running parallel to the sidewalk, the trail helps accommodate cyclists and quicker-moving off-road traffic as it runs from the New Mexico 528 Rec Path along the highway in the southeast to the Southern Boulevard Trail in the north. While the trail doesn't offer anything worth going out of your way for, it provides a useful community connection, making another mile of multi-use trail available for transportation and recreation.
No dedicated trail parking is available; parking may be found nearby on-street or at local businesses near the trail - be sure to follow any posted parking signs and regulations.
