Very nice surface for our hybrid bikes and beautiful scenery.

Franconia Notch Recreation Path

Great trail!

Great ride! Plenty of parking at both ends. As noted in earlier reviews, it is not a rail trail, being hilly with some steep pitches. As an out-and-back it's over 1,500' in elevation gain (easier from north to south if you do it only one way).

Presidential Rail Trail

Challenging but worth the effort

August, 2025 by luv2bike23

The scenery along the Presidential Trail is varied and spectacular. The views of the Presidential Range are awesome and the Gorham end of the trail is almost as beautiful as it winds along the Moose River through a narrow valley. The trail surface is also varied and it's very bumpy in spots. I found it almost painful to complete the trail on a gravel bike, which is why I only rated it with four stars. A short-travel full-suspension mountain bike is probably ideal for this trail. This was definitely one of the most beautiful rail-trails I've ridden and I can't wait to ride it again during the autumn.

Great Fun - even in a light rain

Paved. Fast. Hilly with turns. Not a rail trail and the change was great fun. Do not travel when crowded. Lots of sights to see.

West Milan Trail

Would be a nice trail if maintained. Heavy overgrowth makes it impossible. Blackberry bushes with thorns will cut you up! Aug 2025

North Conway Recreation Path

I enjoy taking a walk before or after running errands. This path has filled a need in the Mt Washington Valley! The paved surface is welcoming and checking out the turtles on the north end of the pond is fun. Enjoy!

Black Pond Trail

Some big hills and a few water crossings. Pretty difficult in the snow a few icy spots. Was still enjoyable.

We just rode the trail up & back with hybrids. No issues. Good hard pack gravel & sand. Rails & ties are removed. Good food at both trail ends. No one on the trail on first hunting season day.

We just did the trail. A good portion is closed due to winter flood damage which removed parts of the trail. Rubble replacement now. Entire trail passible but closed sections rough. Trail is downhill west to east

A paved Trail in the northern part of the state!

Short, but there are some local add-on trails at both ends of the trail.  Add on trails are mostly dirt and mostly for mountain bikes but our e-bikes allowed us to add a mile to the adventure.

Presidential Rail Trail

Pondicherry WR to Randolf, NH

October, 2024 by patstix25yrs

Plenty of parking at the Pondicherry Wildlife trail head. We ride fat tire ebikes. The trail presented little issue with some rougher, more narrow sections close to the refuge. There is a lovely viewing platform near the start of the trail. We rode in late September. The foliage was not peak but stunning none the less. The trail had only a few leaves and few puddles. Not the best for a standard bike but perfect for bikes with wider tires. We rode up to Randolf and turned around, 34 miles. not busy but we saw other riders, dog walkers, hikers and a couple of horse riders. Great views of the mountains when you break into a meadow or wetland. really fun. I took off a star because standard bikes might struggle.
