Jordan River Parkway Trail

Jordan River is Cray!

April, 2020 by kristymcmurray79

Did this trail on a road bike for the first time today and it is not what I was expecting. Gorgeous nature and love the feeling, it’s crazy ups and downs the whole time between Lehi and Riverton. Love it for the beauty and the challenge. Definitely will do again.

There are good parts

The trail from Riverdale to Fort Bonaventure is great. From the Fort north can be questionable as far as feeling safe. And about 2 miles south of Riverdale it becomes a dirt trail. So - limited safety, limited comfort for a trail that is so long!

nice

Scenic, well-maintained trail. A little difficult to follow in some intersections. Much more rolling hills than most RTT.

Great trail - thank you!

Really enjoyed the trail, several shady spots on a hot day. Great respect from drivers when I had to cross streets, good awareness by the drivers. Can't wait to ride it again.

Echo State Park was by far the best part, though road got a bit bumpy over there. from Park City there are a few gates to get through. Mostly sun exposure, and watch out for gopher holes the first 7 miles

Great Trail, but lacks signage

May, 2019 by rdwil1984

I road part of the trail from the Redwood Trailhead Park to the River Oaks Golf Course and back again. There is a severe lack of signage to show you the main trail and you end up taking lots of wrong turns or continually stop to check if you need to take a turn or not. This gets a bit frustrating as you don't get a nice flowing ride, but rather a stop start ride all the way. I think I took about six or seven wrong turns and had to back track. Other than that, the trail could do with some maintenance. There are lots of cracks due to roots under the tarmac and some of the bridges could do with resurfacing, but it didn't worry me too much. Forgetting about the negatives, it is a really nice ride along the river and you don't have to deal with traffic which is great. The view of the mountains is awesome especially as you get further south. If I'm in Salt Lake City again, I'll definitely ride this track again, but I'll bring my GPS next time as it will save a lot of headaches. I would recommend this track, but bring your GPS and keep an eye out for the strong southerly wind. Makes for a strong head wind on the way south, but great for coming back.

Not What I Expected

April, 2019 by mpmpuckett

The first 14 miles traveling from Park City was all downhill and fast. Once we got to mile 17 until near the end the trail is in very poor condition. The horses and cows have torn the trail up and it was extremely hard to ride. It took us 4 hours in no shade to complete the trip. You must be strong and have a very good mountain bike to be happy with this section of the trail. Also all the dead deer on the side of the road were stinky and rotting (I counted at least 20), The trail follows I-80 most of the way and it is okay, but a little distracting. Now get out and ride !

Great little trail it is paved and if you are a railfan you will love it. I walked it and the frontrunner was parked there so i got a pic of it and uploaded it here. If you want a nice short walk give it a try it is also a great trail for beginners. To get to trail head park on north side of parking lot and walk east on the north end of parking area and just before you cross rail look right for trailhead sign.

Legacy Parkway Trail

nobody maintains this trail

November, 2018 by chaseogordon

Its covered in gravel or it would be just beautiful. Its unfortunate nobody is there to maintain this trail. Watch out for Horse s***. Someone should organize a community sweep. I've almost gone out with my broom but its like 20 miles. It needs a professional touch.

Excellent trail I use it mainly for rollerskiing and cycling, the only problem I see from supposedly experienced cyclist is no warning on your left etc other than that my favorite stretch.

Historic Union Pacific Rail Trail State Park

Not bad... Nice Scenery

September, 2018 by signal.progressive

Slow upward grade from Coalville/Echo area to Park City., but not too steep. Since this is a Utah State park it would be great if more maintenance was done along the trail: cut back the vegetation overgrowth for example.
Overall, this is a great ride.
