Great easy flat paved trail!

July, 2020 by dustin.horning1

This trail goes down along Kitty Hawk Bay and has tons of little public and private docks along the way. Bike ride or going on a leisurely walk with the fam fam this trail has lot to look at and nice people along the way. We stayed at a rental in an attached neighborhood and it was a perfect bike ride to get some exercise on vacation. Highly recommend it! I went down and back and I got 7.4 miles in, so I suspect this is a lot longer than 1.5 miles. Just FYI!

Suffolk Seaboard Coastline Trail

Time well spent

July, 2020 by jessica.stewart876

I am from Hampton roads but moved to Maryland 5 years ago . I came for the first time To this trail this year while on a trip visiting my mom. This trail is a gem I wish I had known about sooner. I also was blown away by the culture of this trail. So many people greet you while Passing by. It’s very humbling and refreshing. It’s a big difference from the many trails I frequent in the dmv. The “scenery was serene” and although flat surface was not the most challenging... a round trip jog/walk provides respective miles (7 miles)

Suffolk Seaboard Coastline Trail

easy peasy lemon squeezy

This paved trail is awesome. Great for beginner bikes, skateboards, scooters, or whatever your mode of discovery is! There are Pokestops every 1/4 mile, benches for resting and portable bathrooms with water at the beginning and the end. Parking is in a lot with accessible parking and street lights. The trail is well used without being overcrowded, so you feel safe but still feel the openness of being outdoors. Great for everybody!!

Birdneck Road Trail

I walked this with my kids. It's a nice trail, most of it is right up against the woods and you can hear the crickets. There were other walkers, joggers, and bikers. But I found the traffic noise kind of a nuisance.

Elizabeth River Trail (Atlantic City Spur)

See the Diversity of Norfolk

Read all the other reviews but know that the signage has been greatly improved. You can park at either end, Hermitage to the north or Harbor Park to the south. Parts of the trail are on the street but I never felt unsafe. Different routes are available so be sure to check the map. Plenty of places to stop and eat or drink along the way, Smartmouth, Orapax, Waterside and lots of choices across the street from ODU. Views of downtown, waterfront, parks, college campus. So diverse! How many mermaids can you find along the way?

Dismal Swamp Canal Trail (NC)

Longer then noted

May, 2020 by candskennedy

If you start your ride at "Chessie" (address is 1200 Dismal Swamp Canal) and continue to the end it's 8.3 miles each way for a total of 16.6 miles. Make sure to apply bug spray. Family and cyclist friendly!

Kempsville Road Trail

This trail does not exist!

May, 2020 by bcameron2

Perhaps I do not understand what is meant by a "trail," but I don't consider a sidewalk next to a busy highway a trail. Today I triked for several miles where this "trail" is supposed to be. I was riding on the sidewalk. There is no independent trail other than the sidewalk. What is mapped for this trail runs through the yards of homes fronting the road.

Lynnhaven Parkway Trail

My husband and I enjoyed the trail! We parked at the mall. There was a pathway with a few some elevations along the way.

Great trail to bike, run or even warm with the stroller.

Diamond Springs Road Trail

Literally a sidewalk next to a busy road. thought I'd take the kids with me, but I was too on edge with all of the traffic.

Wright Brothers Trail

This is part of the trail system in the Outer Banks and provides a scenic connection along Kitty Hawk Bay between Bay Dr on the south and Moor Shore Rd on the north. Parking is available at a small park on Windgrass Circle. Historical note, the path is on what was once part of the route the Wright Brothers used during their first year of experiments at the Outer Banks. They stayed in Kitty Hawk village, later camping on the dunes overlooking Kitty Hawk Bay in the vicinity of this trail. Bayo “commuted” to Kill Devil Hills.

General Booth Boulevard Trail

Decent trail

June, 2019 by abn2nds

Begins at the VA Beach boardwalk area. Not marked great, some of the areas are narrow sidewalks. Crossing the roadways can be difficult as well. It was ok but not great.
