Great 10 mile ride. narrow in some sections and VERY busy on weekends. We rode on a warm day in the middle of the week. Will do again in Speing!
Lovely Greenway along Guntersville lake with one big hill.
Definitely bumpy because it is gravel. I rode it the autumn so gravel and leafy. Some beautiful spots to point and shoot. From a tourist perspective- you get to see the incline, ruby falls, and craven’s house. The only “treacherous” part is the 200 yards of curvy roads and traffic at the end of the trail if you are trying to go all the way to the top of the mountain. You have to really work those legs. If you do, you can easily make it past some of the nicest views off the mountain, past the top of the incline, and to point park.
The trail is well maintained, relatively flat, and very very scenic once you get out of town. We'd definitely come again.
Great urban trail that goes along the waterfront, and through wooded and swamped areas. All paved
Trail is easy to find off main road in city with plenty of parking at trailhead. Thoroughly enjoyed our walk with our dog with most of the trail in shade. This trail connects to Hays Preserve and Flint River Greenway as well. This portion of the trail is marked for bikes on one side and walkers/runners on the other and you need to pay attention to that or get run over! But the trail is very wide and lots of room to get off in the grass if need be. Not a lot of benches to take a break and no restrooms until you get to Hays Preserve.
This trail is amazing! It is fully paved and is 3.7 miles along the gorgeous lakeshore of Guntersville Lake. Lots of areas to sit and picnic and watch the geese and ducks. You can even take a dip in the lake. Dog friendly(leashed, but they can splash in the lake). Our dog LOVED every bit of the walks and the water and geese! There is a farmer's market as well. Lots of parking at various points along the road and a huge playground/park for the kiddos. The city of Guntersville is very nice with lots of restaurants nearby. Be forewarned we did not see any public restrooms, but it looked like they were building some. There were port-a-potties at the public beach area.
We rode 38 miles yesterday, and enjoyed the beautiful fall colors on this well maintained trail. Riding through the Brushy Mountain tunnel was amazing! Very little traffic and nice fall temperatures make this trail almost perfect for a November ride. Don't wait, this is the one you want to do. We rode from Rockmart in both directions and will be back for more!
Had a wonderful wonderful time on this trail! Great trail for first time long distance bikers like myself. My husband and I will be back to do the Silver Comet Trail all the way through the Chief Ladiga Trail.
Beautiful trail, well maintained. We rode during the week and it wasn't very busy. Shady, clean (they were blowing off leaves while we rode), mostly flat, some small hills near alabama state line, fun!
This trail is beyond amazing. It was the most enjoyable ride I have ever taken. Chattanooga must be pround. There are other trails around the city that I would rate with 5 ****"s as well. The scenery, the historical markers, the cleanliness, the river views, all are awesome!
