Salado Creek Greenway

Another great trail

February, 2025 by dpate

The Salado Creek Greenway is another gem in San Antonio. I discovered it at Eisenhower Park and rode to the south end of the north section. I tried to ride to the south section of the trail but I turned around and drove to Jack White Park to do the south section. Superb trail! Five stars!! Traveling cyclist Facebook

Super Trail!

February, 2025 by dpate

The Leon Creek Greenway is a super nice wide paved trail through the woods. It’s curvy and hilly. It’s one of the nicest trails I have ridden. I envy the people who live in San Antonio for the wonderful trails here. FIVE stars! Traveling cyclist Facebook

Great Trail

Smooth concrete trail. A little crowded in the middle through the park area. Be ready for an abrupt end at the west end of the trail.

Great Trail

Very nice trail and hard to believe you are in a city. Wooded with lots of shade.

Until you get near Eisenhower Park, this is a mostly flat trail. Just before the park there's one really big hill with switchbacks that's a little rough but not the worst we've seen. Solid ride...we did almost 40 round trip

First time on this trail

My first time on this trail it was amazing very clean and smooth path. I would like to meet some regular rides to join me I am not an elite rider but I do enjoy a nice enjoyable ride.

There are a number of dangerous hills and turns throughout the trail. Perhaps a more experienced Rollerblade enthusiast could manage, however, not without a spotter.

Quiet Clean Beautiful

This trail is great. Lots of spurs into neighborhoods to extend your ride. Great park with fountains. Good, clean bathroom access. Everyone was polite. Access to town could be better but it looks as if that is getting a new trail into town.

Not Great for Walkers

September, 2021 by gvravel

I spent today walking about 4 miles of this path starting at Phil Hardberger Park. What I found was that walkers are pretty much taking their lives into their own hands because of some of the bicyclists. The vast majority of bicyclists do seem to be out for a leisurely ride but you have a handful that treat it as some sort of racing track. When I got back to where I had started there was even a bicyclist turning around a bend in the path doing 30mpg. A lady in back of me yelled out, "Hey, slow down!" A friend who was with her said that they (some bicyclists) do this all the time. I think I'll stick with Phil Hardberger Park.
