Paved, part loop and part out and back trail. Gas stations along trail in case of low tire, bathroom, etc. Not a destination trail, but nice off the road trail to break up the monotony of riding around my neighborhood. Nice in early spring when gravel trails are soggy still.
This is always one of my favorite trails in the area. It is not a long trail, and you are looking for a strenuous workout on a bike this is probably not the trail to do that. But as a nice casual fully paved trail it is perfect for a nice ride after work or a quick ride to start your day. It is very well maintained with many benches and a couple of bike repair stations. It is well marked with good signage. The highlight is the trestle trail bridge across the lake. It also connects to the friendship trail which is a nice additional ride.
Easy to walk; hard to find parking - I used Scheel’s Sports complex. Too built up along the trail easy to walk; hard to find parking - I used Scheel’s Sports complex. Too built up along the trail
First off, the CE Trail connects perfectly to the Newberry Trail which can bring you into the center of Appleton. The Trail is a good condition and perfect for walking and biking. Every time I ride on it I see people enjoying it. There are big hills/descents to cross some roads, but it's nothing impossible. It also connects to many other roads like State Park Road, almost all of them are perfect for biking. Overall it serves as a funnel into and out of Appleton while also connecting you to multiple businesses like the Kimberly YMCA and the Recyclist. I use it at least once a month.
I’ve been utilizing this trail for 14+years and I love it. It’s very well kept and beautiful all year round.
I love this trail and ride it as much as possible. Combine it with the Mariners trail and you get a good ride.
A great well maintained asphalt trail . Can be busy at times, but a great view of Lake Michigan!
Beautiful water views and easy trail to follow. Very popular and can be busy though.
