The section between Bethesda and Silver Spring is closed until 2022 while the add a heavy rail transit.
At long last the connector between the two segments of this delightful trail is now open -- sort of. There is a detour still but it is easily possible to ride the entire length of the trail starting near University Blvd and winding up in Hyattsville. The section that the detour goes around is completed but they're still building townhouses there and so (presumably) they do not want cyclists in the construction zone.
Great place to cycle safely with a variety of landscapes. Everything from forest, a horse farm, to airport look over and parking lots. On sunny nice days it can be quite crowded around the parkinglot area. This website says that it is 12.5 around the loop. I have ridden around it many times, and my gps only records 10.5 miles.
We loved riding this trail from Glen Burnie to Annapolis. Go all the way into town and enjoy a nice lunch at one of the many nice restaurants on the waterfront. The trail is well marked and safe.
Ran trail in October on a wonderful fall day.Started at park at north end of airport runway and headed north.Views of DC were fantastic.Trail crowded as usual.Lived in DC in 1970s and ran this trail often.Enjoyed my recent run after not running trail for about 15 years.
Began the run at GORC park.Connected with trail after about half a mile and headed south toward Conway Road.Nice trail, uncrowded, and well maintained. There are some uphills, etc.Used to live in Gambrills in 1970s and this trail didn't exist.Amazing how a once rural area has now become densely populated.
I love this trail, only problem is, it's not long enough.
This trail was expanded last year and i ride it but you end way before the end. Want to support but payment of fee demands currency on your end. The trail ends in bladensberg now. Please update.
Just used to trail today for biking.
This is also parking available at the trail end on theodore green blvd, white plains.
Lovely experience, had to deal with cross winds though, lol
very nice wide trail. Its never crowded and its well kept with some shade during the summer month.
