I've ridden this trail in both directions, first from Mineral Wells, then from Weatherford. Coming from Mineral Wells there is more of a uphill grade. There are several stops of interest that are good for a rest along the trail. My family and I frequently ride shorter distances on the trail, mostly from the Weatherford trailhead. I highly reccomend visiting the Mineral Wells rail trial.
It is well-maintained, well-marked, and not too busy. The last part is a bit tricky to get to the Lost Creek Park picnic and swimming area (take the road to the left from the end of the trail). Not a ton of trees but they are growing back and in a few year should begin to give decent shade.
Best to do with a bike and on a cloudy or cool day, not much shade but the concrete helps to stay on the trail. Overall not horrible trail
Great easy trail for running, walking, or biking. Weaves through 4 parks, over water and along the lake, and near the square for easy access to wander downtown to grab lunch, a drink or souvenirs. Our favorite part is the boardwalk behind the hotel and convention center that over looks the lake and also the boardwalk on the beach!
A great way to spend the time with the family. There are porta potty’s along the way and it is kept very clean. Highly recommended!
A pretty trail with lots of trees and shade. Best suited for walking, hiking or jogging, and judging from the traffic when I was there, that is how most people actually use it. From a cycling perspective, it is curvy in a number of places, so it is a slower ride. Come here to walk the dog, push the baby, or take a jog, but on a bike it will be a slower ride, dogging a lot of foot traffic....
Love the trail! Has shade and full sun spots. So use your sunscreen and a hat. Slow incline for your first two miles. Walk back is great! Got my 10,000 steps in! Beautiful day! Great people You meet along the way! ¿¿
I love this trail. I bike, walk my dog and run here. Very clean and safe with beautiful views of the city
This is really the only long trail that Burleson has to offer.
This trail is not too bad. There’s a small parking lot on Oak Valley Park North. There’s a couple small hills that make it easier to ride. The uphill on the way back to the park was a little tough. My 7yr old daughter had to walk it back up.
