Lakefront Bike Path

Lovely Trail, but Mileage Needs Updating.

July, 2019 by kempro

Spent a wonderful summer morning enjoying the cool lake breeze and astonishing views. I don’t understand why the mileage is posted as 1.9 miles, when I rode approximately 5-6 miles. I started neat the Blue Harbor resort and rode out on the pier to the end. Then I followed the generous lakeside train north past numerous parks and a couple marinas. There is one large hill on the north end, but take it as there’s more to enjoy above that!

Nice trail and well maintained

The trail is paved and used by many in West Bend. As you travel north, the trail is limestone and has loose top gravel that will slow your pace from hard packed limestone. A scenic and tranquil ride from Kewaskum to Eden. I've ridden it several times and will come back.

Ahnapee State Park Trail

Very Nice

June, 2019 by catslave

We rode this on our cyclocross bikes from Sturgeon Bay to Cashton and back, around 54 miles. We have ridden almost all the rail trails in Wisconsin and this is a lovely one. It is a gravel trail and not suitable for road bikes. The trail was a bit weedy in places but easily traversed and the countryside was beautiful. The only reason I give this trail 4 stars instead of 5 is that the trail markers are small and somewhat confusing. We wound up lost in Algoma at one point because we couldn't figure out where the trail went. A map is highly advisable, as is careful attention to trail signs.

frozen trail

Very nice trail that connects several parks with many different athletic facilities. Follows along the river closely. Only downside is parts of the trail may be flooded when the river is high.

Fall ride from Ripon to Berlin

November, 2018 by wojo58

We rode on October 22, sunny 45-50 degrees. We started in Ripon from the little lot off of County E. The trail was in good condition and there were plenty of benches but no Port-o-Potties. The first part parallels County E so you cross some driveways, but it's no big deal. After a mile or so you leave the road and head into the Wisconsin farmlands. There's even a Winery that you can visit along the way....not sure what that would do to my ride :-) Beautiful ride with a stop at Berlin for lunch at a very nice and tasty Mexican restaurant.

Couple of caveats: There's a landfill along the way that will get your noses attention, and a shooting range both of which you circumvent just south of Berlin. Just hope the sportsman didn't visit the winery beforehand! :-)

Wiouwash State Trail

Wiouwash - Larson to Hortonville

October, 2018 by wojo58

Went for fall ride October 21, temperature 46 degrees - sunny

Started in Larson parked at a little park just off the trail. There was a Port-o-Potty(POP) there, but not sure it was for public use. The trail was in excellent condition with very few rough spots. There was a wet spot (just south of School rd) for about 100 yards...stay on the trail! We road side by side for > 98% of the time; very few people on the trail. The POP at Rt96 is, according to my wife, the nicest POP she's ever used. Its also just about half way between the towns. Went into town at Hortonville and ate at the little park on Black Otter Lake. Also checked out the old bank building(1916) and the Opera House (NOT the grand Ole type).

Had a great time, will do the Larson to Oshkosh leg some time, but the southernmost 3-4 miles are not as isolated and go into the town of Oshkosh near the lake. Even though the lake shore routing is nice (we checked it out), we like the out in the country feeling a little more.

First Trail Ride

September, 2018 by sweetdanakay

My husband and I decided to take up biking and this was our first trail ride and we really enjoyed it. I have a small dog and she travels in a pet basket and she also really enjoy the three hour ride. Mostly gravel but well maintained.

Bugline Trail

A great trail

August, 2018 by masmith_tl

A great trail, very pretty even on the in-city parts riding through the woods. There's plenty of shade and the paved surface is great for my recumbent trike. The trail is well marked and drivers were super courteous about stopping when I needed to cross. I stopped and had a nice swim at Menomonee Park

Devil's River State Trail

Great Trail

August, 2018 by dpoquette

I started this trail in Denmark and rode the entire length of the trail. At Denmark, it was well marked with rest stop facilities. The trail is a very pretty trail. You see lots of wildlife as well as farm animals. It is a well maintained trail. My only complaint is that the end of the trail in Rockwood could be marked better. There are a number of buildings that may be confused for a parking lot for the trail.

I started this trail at Forest Junction and road it into Green Bay. It was an excellent trail. I started out on the gravel portion which lasted about half of the journey. Once I got into brown county, there were rest stops and places to purchase your trail pass. Trail passes are only required on the Brown County portion of the trail (I had verified this with a person at the Calumet Couty parks office).

Friendship State Trail

Brillion to Forest Junction

I thought this segment of the trail was a very good trail. Well marked in Brilllion. Although, there were some portions of the trail that had small weeks growing through, I thought I was well maintained. I hope they are able to connect the segments soon.

Shoreland 400 Rail Trail

Execellent Trail

August, 2018 by dpoquette

The Shoreline 400 is an execellent trail to ride. My only problem with it is that it’s too short.
