Sheboygan Interurban Trail

Good Ride

August, 2018 by dpoquette

I wrote the entire length of the Sheboygan Interurban Trail . In general, it was an excellent trail to ride. However, As the previous person who posted earlier, the trail is about 50% on the road. That was disappointing. The road was good to ride and not full of potholes.

Oak Leaf Trail

no extension to Bender park

August, 2018 by crswit

First let me start by saying the Oak Leaf trail is an excellent trail that circles Milwaukee county. I have been using this trail ever since it use to be called the '76' trail. Unfortunately, I haven't been on the south end in years. I recently decided to go south(starting at Greenfield park) with the intent to get to the newer of Milwaukee Counties parks, Bender park. When I got to Drexel at which point I would normally go straight east toward Grant Park I found I was able to continue South. Not having checked the trail map prior to my adventure I made the assumption that the ability to go further South of Drexel would somehow meander its way to Bender park. Unfortunately I was mistaken. Needless to say I managed to get to Bender park by going East on Ryan Rd./Hwy 100. I eventually got back on the Oak Leaf trail down near Grant park after heading North from Bender park through South Milwaukee on 5th Ave. Let me once again reiterate how awesome the Oak leaf trail is and how I should have checked the map prior to my excursion. As an avid biker I can only hope that at some point there will be an extension/offshoot of the Oak leaf trail that will allow bikers to safely get to that corner of Milwaukee county via trails.

Rawley Point Trail

Fun ride with lots of curves

August, 2018 by kmolter

This trail is densely shaded almost the entire length as you wind through a forest with large old trees, perfect for the hot weather we had that day. The crushed limestone surface is hard packed, so mountain bike tires are not needed. However, super skinny road tires might be slightly dicey in a few stretches. There are no large hills, just small ups and downs and lots of curves - a nice contrast to rail trails that are very straight.

Leaving the car at the beach in Two Rivers, we followed the brown trail signs in town for a few blocks then went north to the end and back, about 14 miles, in a little less than 2 hours with no problem.

Highly recommended.

Bugline Trail

beautiful...

August, 2018 by tradrrr

In town for a tri and rode the trail this morning. It’s really nice and well marked. I forgot I had ridden it once before years ago until I came across the quarry with the most beautiful blue water.

Ahnapee State Park Trail

Getting too rough

July, 2018 by dolderman1224

I have frequently ridden from Harold Reckelberg park for the past 4-5 years to Algoma & Kewaunee. I love the rural settings and solitude, but this year's rides have been too rough to enjoy on our Treks (700c x 35). Horses make the ride like cobblestone! Not sure if we'll try again later this season. Otherwise, these are my favorite trails to ride.

Ahnapee State Park Trail

Sturgeon Bay to Kewaunee

July, 2018 by donsenzig

I rode the Ahnapee trail from S. Neenah Ave. & Wilson Rd. in Sturgeon Bay to Miller & Milwaukee Streets in Kewaunee. According to my computer the distance was 39.36 miles. Although there were thunderstorms the day before the trail was in excellent shape. Unsure of trail conditions I rode my mountain bike with 2 inch tires but would have had no trouble with a road bike with 25 mm tires. The trail apparently doesn't get much use. I only met six other riders, all before I reached Algoma. It's a very nice ride with terrain varying between woodland, wetlands, and farmland. However, bug spray is recommended. Carry water, facilities are limited. The Village Kitchen restaurant in Casco is recommended if hot food is desired along the trail; good food, friendly staff, excellent service, and homemade cherry pie that can't be beat.

Bugline Trail

Nice trail

July, 2018 by jo turner

Nice trail. Paved. Green tunnels. Pleasant even on a hot July mid-day. Lots of busy road crossings. 99% cars stopped for crossing, but never sure about that other 1%. DH and I ride a tandem recumbent trike with a wide turn radium and many corners were not wide enough for us in one pass.

Eisenbahn State Trail

loved this trail

July, 2018 by hargreaves48

My friend and I bike the whole trail. It was hot out but had a great breeze. There are lots of bridges, great scenery, mostly gravel, but paved on the west bend end. There are bugs so spray and you’ll be fine. Fun trail. If us, 2 old ladies and do it, you can too. We are over 70!

Wiouwash State Trail

fun trail

June, 2018 by hargreaves48

I done this trail a few times love love it. There are getting to be lots of problems though. Mud , ruts, and holes from animals. Wood bridges need marking that they are slippery when wet, be careful. Still one of my favorite trails.

Fox River State Trail

Fabulous Ride

June, 2018 by jmclincoln

The Fox River Trail in Green Bay WI should be in the Rails-to-Trails Hall of Fame. It’s mostly pavement or cement the fist 11miles, with beautiful parks and gardens along the way. The northern half hugs the river, so cool breezes and intriguing vistas are part of the ride. Businesses along the way put out water for your dog. The south half, although a crushed stone surface just past mile marker 11, is worth the ride to Greenleaf for a scrumptious lunch.

Ahnapee State Park Trail

Algoma to Sturgeon Bay

June, 2018 by scottnei3

Many reviews mention that the trail is rough in spots and I would need to agree. But I rode it from Algoma to Sturgeon Bay and back (44 miles) on a full carbon Specialized hybrid with 700 x 30 cc tires and had a great time. Yes, the areas where the horses ride are a bit rough but not that bad. My frame has built in zerts to dampen the vibration. Keep in mind the north end of the trail ends in the south side of Sturgeon Bay in an industrial park. From there you can ride into and around town, check out the bridges, boats, parks, and many good eateries. IMO doing this on a mountain bike would be exhausting, but this is definitely not a road bike trail. Gravel - CX - recommended.
