Great trail..Brisk walk 6 days per week and squeeze in a bike ride here and there.. on 9/23/2025 at dusk west bound on the trail headed back to our vehicle quarter mile from the Garner parking lot wife heard something in the bush for several minutes. mentioned it to me, i stopped, turned and looked to the south of the trail and there it was.. The big Cat stopped looked at us and turned jumped and ran.. Pretty dense brush but we saw him/her clear as day... I was shocked to say the least... I would expect to see bobcat, but not this big girl.. We walk fast, wife behind me, was stalking and or checking her out.. Kinda Scary...
Not the best for single women to walk alone. So take a friend a stick or some maze if you do! Better for riding bikes.
Perfect for all kinds of human fueled wheels.
Honestly a great trail, good scenery, a lot of wild life and few rest spots along the way. Rode really well with a recumbent bike would highly recommend this trail!
Great trail, some crossings are a bit sketchy. Over all a great ride for a recumbent bike great places to stop get water and restrooms along the way. Once you reach grape vine from cambridge or iron horse trail head there are great places to eat.
My friend and I were biking down the northhaven trail and ended up going onto this trail. Immediately we felt unsafe as there was trash and homeless people along the sides. We kept going hoping it would clear up but as we passed two homeless men one of them jumped at me, trying to grab me off my bike. Thankfully he didn’t reach me in time but started to run after me. He proceeded to bark and growl while doing this. I have never been more scared for my safety. We found the closest exit and immediately got off the trail. Was very disappointed and will NEVER go back.
Beautiful walk, lots of wildlife Beaver, stork, crane, ducks, turtles, and of course rabbits and squirrels. Lots of birds chirping too
The drainage on this trail is subpar and it is often closed during rainy season! I am unaware of a source to see if sections of trail are closed due to flooding!
Horrible! People here only think of themselves and don’t care about others and need to learn the term SHARE THE TRAIL
Perhaps the negative reviews were also about things not being completed but at least for me. I really enjoyed this trail. Apart from having to stop at crossroads where there is a lot of traffic it is smooth, very cynic from current to a little past Lake Louisville. I used to riding in Dallas from Oakcliff to the Trinity river, so this is very enjoyable.
I rode the Trinity Forest and AT&T trail on a weekday in early April 2025. It was a very windy day but there is a lot of cover and shade. There were some flooded low points but very passable. I saw only 4 hikers in the 19 miles I rode. I highly recommend checking this trail out. This is a super trail that deserves 5 stars!
