We started this trail out at merton firemans park, and went east to the falls, trail is all paved, beautiful scenery, goes under 164, nice woods, great view of the quarry, great ride

Lake Country Recreation Trail

Disappointing & Bad Stretch near Nemahbin Lake

October, 2021 by jacquibudde

Was very excited to try this trail between Fish Hatchery (Delafield) and Oconomowoc downtown....but was disappointed. So much of the trail is between power line poles and fairly uninteresting. The worst, however, was the stretch around Nemahbin Lake--where the trail literally disappears completely and you are left navigating a narrow, heavily travelled road with no shoulders in some places! I can't believe this portion is still called the Lake Country trail--when there is no trail. I would not recommend this route for families with young children, given this dangerous stretch with cars whizzing past.

...loved the concept of this path and the ability to enjoy downtown Delafield and downtown Oconomowoc, though. I just wish is was better developed and a bit more interesting/rustic.

Really really liked the trail, I’m in town from Michigan for work and what an awesome way to spend the day. I’ve never road gravel before today and had a blast

Picked up trail on Hwy K in Cedar Grove and took it to Kohler-Andre Park. Trails are nicely maintained, restrooms along the way. At Oostburg you are on country road the remainder of the way. Little to no traffic. Also, not very scenic. Kohler-Andre is great.

Went east and west of Loop the Little Lake Trail. East is on mostly side streets to a park. West is only paved halfway and noisy from Hwy 10.

About half the trail is crushed stone, but hard and easy to ride. From the northern end to Lasee Road is paved. Very nice along the river.

Lake Mills to Deerfield

Beautiful trail between Lake Mills and Deerfield. Ice cream in Deerfield! No ruts - hard packed crushed limestone. I rode my road bike with out problem. Just wish they had ice

Glacial Drumlin State Trail

Ok but not a lot of features

September, 2021 by gmeister50

I started at the trail head in Cottage Grove. Paid my $5 and took off east. The path is mostly crushed lime stone and nice riding. It has slight grades but no hills. The trail is mostly straight and flat which is why I say it lacks features. Yes I know it is a converted train tracks. Lots of farms and fields with flowers. (features?) Also tree lined. It goes by many small towns along the way but they looked deserted. Didn't see many people.
I think riding the IPP and Fox River trail is better.

We absolutely loved this trail. We started near the airport in Watertown Wisconsin and took the back roads all the way to the end of the marked trail. There’s a small 2 mile segment that’s a long state route 16 but it’s a dedicated trail on the side of that road. Loud traffic but just a small section so not that bad of a deal. Everything else is beautiful country roads very little traffic absolutely wonderful rolling Hhills and farmland. It took us three hours round-trip very leisurely pace of 9 mph Be sure to eat at the Main Street diner in Watertown

Popped My Tire

The Menominee Parkway section is horrible! So many potholes! I popped my tire and had to get an Uber back. My first ever experience with an Uber, which was much better than my bicycling experience!
