I walked this trail on a cold winter day and found it to be generally cleared of snow which was great, having nice views of the river and easy to access. I would definitely do it again.
First off, the CE Trail connects perfectly to the Newberry Trail which can bring you into the center of Appleton. The Trail is a good condition and perfect for walking and biking. Every time I ride on it I see people enjoying it. There are big hills/descents to cross some roads, but it's nothing impossible. It also connects to many other roads like State Park Road, almost all of them are perfect for biking. Overall it serves as a funnel into and out of Appleton while also connecting you to multiple businesses like the Kimberly YMCA and the Recyclist. I use it at least once a month.
well-maintained paved trail with beautiful sceneries. Always enjoying to ride.
My first ride on this beautiful trail from Menomonee Park to Merton & back today on my recumbent trike. It is paved and mostly in the trees. I enjoyed the ride. 11-21-2020
Beautiful water views and easy trail to follow. Very popular and can be busy though.
Used the trail to connect the Glacial drumlin to the Lake country. Makes for a nice loop.
This is an easy and enjoyable trail. Smooth surface, very well maintained and clean. A great route to the Little Cute area and various locations in Appleton without risks from heavy traffic.
This is a well maintained trail in the park, along the river, and in town. Well lit and easy to navigate. Heaviest pedestrian traffic seems to be between 530 and 730 pm
from forest junction to a little north of greenleaf was well kept gravel wide and hard packed. From that point and north into Green bay it was very well maintained asphalt and farther into the bay it was nice boardwalk, bike shop, coffee shop, restaurants. De Piere to Green bay was a joy, tons of river views, take a camera! Lombardi's grave and house along trail!
I rode this trail in its entirety today logging 61.2 miles. The only reason that I rated this trail as 4 instead of 5 stars are the segments on roads instead of the trail. I did try to carefully navigate and watch for the signs, but still got lost a few times. Aside from that, there were some really enjoyable scenic portions to the trail as you head further north. The bridge near Grafton (cover photo for this trail) was particularly awesome. I also enjoyed the lakefront park in Port Washington. Plenty of places to stop and eat if you so choose. The portion of the trail furthest north has the least amount of intersections, so it's great if you want to ride with minimal interruptions. All in all I enjoyed my ride, and would do it again!
